Reform

My interpretation is that it is an image showing someone "getting the chop". An expression that goes back generations meaning to lose your job, not your head.

But wearing it and endorsing it so soon after the murder is just plain stupid as well as a whole raft of other things.

Remove post, apologise, don't do it again.

One thing is certain. The Greens are just as inept as Reform.
If you really trying to spin it as losing your job that is may I say a pathetic attempt to mitigate an abhorrent message, shame on you

Trump repeatedly does similar. Not only is he using (abusing?) his powers to go after almost anyone he feels have previously 'wronged' him (ex FBI head James Comey etc) , but he has repeatedly called out individuals or positions that has resulted in their home details getting released and either having to go into hiding and/or the police assign protection. The Georgia electoral officers in 2020 being prime examples

Deep state? Really?

What has happened over the last few years? The riots following the terrible murders in Southport which started based on an inaccurate social media post regarding the killer.

Then the immigration hotel incidents. Some of this was again inflamed by inaccurate social media posts.

Clearly the police are trying to avoid a repeat.

Comparing this with say the Jo Cox murder is just unfair. The killer Thomas Mair was shouting 'Britain First' as he killed and was arrested almost immediately. With his identify known his flat/house was searched and police discovered extensive neo-Nazi literature, white supremacist memorabilia, and research on assassins and public shootings in his home. Therefore his identity as a 'right wing nutjob' was known from minute 1.

In this case it appears the bloke was a lone wolf with mental health issues. It took the police about 3 days to identify him and I think the police are still trying to understand the motive, hence the requests not to speculate etc.

You have no idea if he had mental health issues, I don't think you are a doctor. It just suits your narrative. You are just spouting opinions as facts.

I see you had no answer to this, few can take anything you say at all seriously, it's all word salad

Imagine if the t-shirt was worn by a Reform party member and it referred to Polanski and Farage had re-tweeted it.
Imagine the outrage that would be expressed by the likes of Wisbelch.
That is precisely the victim paranoia Reform are tapping into. Be careful. You are better than that!

Reform's public reaction could have been sensible and measured but instead they are seeking political capital from Widdecombe's death. Ironically, I think my way would have garnered more votes.

Whilst it's obviously a ridiculously stupid thing for Polanski to do, I agree with you on this - the never ending victimhood from Farage and co seems to be wearing thin with a lot of people, though obviously not the cultists.

The few on here on share your opinion is hardly a lot of people by any measure. Those with FDS will always take that view and they are entitled to it.

I know it might not be obvious to you given your social status, but posters on here are not the only people talking about this.

There's a whole world out there - you should give it a go.

Social status? Pray amplify, and , you live in UK and always have done I assume?

Reading a number of UK newspapers on line and getting news from half a dozen or so UK sources I find little if any support for Polanski's view ( he deleted ) , I also find very little support for the " Farage is crying wolf " position you are taking. Many express no opinion one way or the other.

So you would not have been critical of a Reform party member wearing such a t-shirt referring to Polanski rather than Farage?

It's fine to be critical of it - I think anyone being honest would be critical of it.

When the whole Reform machine shifts into public, performative victimhood stating things like "If Polanski is not in police custody by this tomorrow, the Police will have declared open season on Members of Parliament", I think they lose credibility.

You only have to see the endless references to "elites" and "establishment" - tropes of populism and all (apparently) out to get Reform - to know that is true.

(Although I would not use the word "cultists")

And what credibility do they hold with you before this? And how has that changed before and afterwards?

Maybe others are just sick to death of the sanctimonious virtue signalling, accusations and cancelling, and the open bias against them, the unfairness of it, but can see this massive hypocrisy before their eyes and want something done

The problem I see with the approach is Farage/Reform are engaging in exactly the same nauseating performances that they claim to be so against.

You can argue that they're just going like for like, but when a huge part of your pitch is that you stand in cultural opposition to the virtue signalling/hurty words type stuff you find on the left... you surely have to demonstrate that, not lean into it.

I think a Reform position that said 'we are going to criticise Polanski for this, but I wouldn't dare label it a criminal matter because I don't think people should be going to prison for social media posts...' would be far, far more convincing/impactful to most people.

Really?

A guillotine.....the quote 'making plans for Nigel'.

Lose your job?

Really? You're going with that?

I can only advise you to not buy any bridges offered to you.

Lucy connolly did the same and got 12+ months in jail 🤷🏻‍♂️

Ok.

Yes he has.....and you criticise and criticised him for it.

So where's your criticism here?

I don't blame him for Comey.....he threatened him and worked against him while taking his paychecks when his job shouldn't be political. So Trump has a right to go after him after the public put him back in......I have no problem with that.

Not only am I going for that but it is screamingly obvious.

If you asked the dumb ass what it meant he will say the same.

When asked whether it was wise in this historic matrix his eyes will swivel his mouth will gape and for some minutes he will emit a low humming vowel sound.

You must have bought in to reforms full on paranoia to think he wore this shirt in the genuine hope that someone would actually cut Farages head off. This is a "bloke" who would cry himself to sleep if he trood on an ant.

What bothers me from your post is if a clearly intelligent person is sold on this paranoid guff, what chance the army of bottom feeders who vote Reform?
