Agreed, preferably we would find another pacy attacker to add to Sarr. If we are a counter attacking team we need pace, something Wharton can help us exploit.

All the click bait headlines say how its Sarr's dream to play for Utd. Bit of stretch given the actual quote...

APS asked Sarr about the possibility of move to Manchester United, who are his dream club. This interview came out hours before Foot Mercato’s report surfaced about the Red Devils. Responding to that, he said:
“I have a three-year contract with Crystal Palace; it’s up to them to decide. Football is my profession, and I enjoy playing it.”

If somebody thinks we'll easily replace that for an affordable price then fair enough.
I'd be asking enough to buy a proven replacement. Which, even then, wouldn't be easy.

Completely agree. Personally I cant see anything in the UTD chat. He'd not their sort of player. They have pretty strong wide forwards. 99% sure its all complete lies.

He's not starting over Cunha or Mbeumo is he? Then add Diallo, Dorgu, Mount, Rashford and Zirkzee into the mix.

Whilst Sarr has been great for us his goal scoring is not exceptional.

The Conference league goals inflated his figures. Last season he scored 9 premier league goals, of which 3 were pens.

So over c 30 games he scored 6 non pen goals. OK, but not great. I think the season before after a slow start he scored 8 prem goals. Again ok, but not great.

Now Palace didn't score that many last year and other forward players e.g. Pino and Johnson, contributed very few goals.

I definitely don't want him to leave, however, a few more league goals would be nice - maybe 10 a season.

I'm a bit more optimistic than you with this... I don't think the average football fan (myself included) understands the intricacies and granular detail of the tactics used in professional football and how this can impact individuals.

You often see one player who is fantastic at one club and useless at another - the same applies to playing under a different manager. Mateta is an example of this, who lets be honest, was useless before Glasner arrived.

It may well be that Sage can get a tune out of Johnson - or even Franca! Let's just see. Johnson didn't become a bad player over night.

At present, Sarr is an integral player and there has been no transfer speculation around him. He's coming to the end of his peak and I just can't see him leaving.

Going by the brief highlights of the Swindon friendly, he looks like he’s beefed out a bit, he doesn’t look like a little boy lost anymore, I know you can’t take much from a friendly, but hopefully, he might be up to the job physically now

I've been banging on about this for a while. Asking a naturally wide player to stay narrow, etc not sticking crosses into a big man will make such a difference .

A lot of fans see things in such a binary way, players are either good or sh1t. Without looking at what type of environment/formation they have excelled in before. Benteke is the simplest...was immense in his first season, then we moved to inverted wingers and stopped crossing and expecing him to run the channels and he was terrible.

Sarr also scored a few goals for Senegal in a different system. Anybody think Johnson would have? Johnson playing well for his country in a different system? Really, it's a rhetorical question.
