Palace Summer 2026 transfers?

I think it shows he adapts to the personnel he has at his command at each cub rather than necessarily switching between tactics when there. Only time will tell on that. I know it is said Mingueza can play at RB but looking at him he looks more of a CB for me. Still think we need a dedicated attacking RB
I don't know if you were familiar with Oscar before (I wasn't), but when I read about him being able to play any defensive position I did think he would be used more as CB too.

However going on his highlights reel, majority of it he is playing RWB, he looks very comfortable with attacking from that position, and seems ideally suited to the Muñoz role.

I would like to see how good he is on the other side though. One on each side is something to dream about.

Looking at the training photos I see Franca is included.

I recall when Glasner joined he pointed out that he was not a ‘miracle worker.’
He did manage to turn around Mateta from a no hoper into an international class regular Premier League goalscorer though.

If Sage can pull off a similar miracle and finally get Franca to fulfil his supposed great potential then that would be a wonderful bonus probably surpassing what Glasner achieved with Mateta.
A big ask though.

If the stories are true Franca issues are nothing like others he is very fragile and has had fairly big injuries at a young age.

If this is true he would never be able to physically get to the level required.

Mr Glass

I hope the stories are false and he can become something but not so sure he didn't even impress when he went out on loan to a league he should know already.

I think Palace will try do what they can to find him another home (Such a waste of money what was it 25-27mil madness)

I remember him coming on against City away...we were 2 down and he was sensational, finished 2-2. There's a player in there, we need to get to him!

My forecast,
- Munoz, Lacroix, Wharton stay
- JRS, Ozoh, Mateta leave ( only if we get a decent offer for Mateta).
- Possible departures - Nketiah, Franca and Devenny.
- additions of a young midfielder, and an attacker if Nketiah and Mateta do depart.

The above is not based on anything concrete, just a feeling about what we might do

My forcast is Wharton and Munoz stay, going to go a bit out there and say Mateta stays too.

Lacroix though will leave 40mill ish with add ons. Devenny leaves for the championship and JRS goes too.

Cresswell comes in along with another CM and a CB

If Mateta won’t sign a new contract he has to be sold if we don’t want another MG situation, ending with the club getting nothing or next to nothing. Big clubs might sniff around other players but he is the only one we have to sell. There was talk of Nketia to West Ham in January that or another club could suit us . If Mateta, Nketia, and the young Nigerian loan were to go. We will need at least two like types in. Without this happening we still need at the least cover of the two loan places gone spare plus maybe one other or more , we can not get into the meat of this season forced to play kids. Nothing against the kids, just not if we need to beat Macclesfield.

Can’t see us selling Franca. We would only get a fraction of our money back. Club are hoping we rediscovers his form on loan to either bring him back or sell him. I can see Lacroix being sold if big enough bid comes in

£40m ? Brighton sold Van Hecke for £50m with one year left on his contract and not as good. That would be financial mismanagement

I don’t quite understand why we should sell Lacroix, who is an experienced Premier League centre-back, for 40 million and then – perhaps – spend more money on some replacement who did quite well in a weaker league but has never played in the Premier League and is effectively a gamble, or might even turn out to be a flop.

I don't think Max will go for £40....unless he has a release clause. Lets put this into some perspective, Chelsk value Garnacho around 40M, Andre Santos at £50-55, if he goes i think it'd be close to Eze money (but I cant see him going), he wears his heart on his sleave for us!

I'm not saying I want him to go. I just expect it to happen and for around the sum I have said. I have said earlier in this thread the reasons why and why clubs such as Chelsea can and do demand higher values for players than we do. It's not a necessarily a case of comparing the players but you also have to factor in the finances of the clubs involved. Chelsea's Commercial revenue massively dwarfs ours and can therefore afford to demand higher prices for players than we can because they can absorb the cost if nobody buys them. We can't afford to absorb that cost in the same way. with the new financial rules we have to find a way to generate income to compensate, and even more so as we have qualified for Europe which puts us at a 10% disadvantage to the flat rate we command. Obviously it is hoped the extra income from the Uefa league campaign compensates for this but that is variable dependent on our success so therefore an unknown.

Again I am not saying I like it. I certainly don't. I wish it wasn't the case I am just stating what I expect to happen and why.

Unlikley we'd spend more money than we'd get for Lacroix.

Not sure i agree. With £85m spent and potentially wasted in January having him for another year and losing say £20m (as some papers are suggesting) may not be a bad solution.

If his goals gets us another 4 places higher in the league that's c£12m, if he wins us a few European games that's extra money and his wages are reasonably low so that saves us a few £million too (JSL is supposedly on £120k a week that's £3.5m p.a more than JP).

If we went into next season with JSL, Eddie N and maybe a young, versatile forward (who would probably cost c£20m) i would be concerned.
