Palace Summer 2026 transfers?

If we can start the season with
Henderson
Munoz
Mitchell/ Sosa
Richards
Lacroix
Canvot/ Riad
Wharton
Kamada/Doucore
Mateta/Larssen
Pino/ Johnson/Esse
Sarr

That’s one helluva team and hopefully can get us a fast start like last year which really helps deep into the season.

Plus if two of the youngsters can step up as well as the new free transfer, it starts to look like a more prepared squad than last year.

I disagree.

I think Lacroix will go. We are in for Cresswell for around 25mill and Mingueza on a free. Sage tends to play a back 4, but with a back 5 last season we were found wanting for cover.

I also think we need a backup to Munoz, of course we will not get someone as good but again we were found wanting for cover for him, and especially now Clyne has gone.

I also think we need one more CM, we cant rely on Doucore and Hughes and lerma are getting on and Wharton will be off next summer so I'd like us to bring in a young player with potential in that position.

We now have a proper right back cover who plays centre back too. As long as we replace anyone who leaves for something similar/better (like we have with clyne) we will do good.

Is it confirmed we are not signing Guessand? I may have missed it but was still half expecting it to be announced.

I think we should sign him personally. Was a bit inconsistent but definitely a palace style player and one who can make a difference.
Option to buy has expired. Doesn’t mean we won’t sign him but if we do we want to pay less

No he doesn't, he plays exactly the same formation as Glasner

We now need a proper LWB, to go with Mitchell and Sosa. Muñoz, Mingueza and Imray are excellent cover for the most difficult position in the team

We have Wharton, Kamada, Lerma, Hughes, Doucoure and Ozoh for 2 positions, unless we sell two of them, another CMer is not priority, IMO.

Agree.

However. Kamada and Wharton will clearly be first choice. Lerma was renewed, so some role must be seen for him. And Hughes, well we know he can do a job.

I supect it will be an intersting week or so for Sage to have a look at some of the others Ozoh, Doucoure, Esse etc.

Looking at the training photos I see Franca is included.

I recall when Glasner joined he pointed out that he was not a ‘miracle worker.’
He did manage to turn around Mateta from a no hoper into an international class regular Premier League goalscorer though.

If Sage can pull off a similar miracle and finally get Franca to fulfil his supposed great potential then that would be a wonderful bonus probably surpassing what Glasner achieved with Mateta.
A big ask though.

I think it shows he adapts to the personnel he has at his command at each cub rather than necessarily switching between tactics when there. Only time will tell on that. I know it is said Mingueza can play at RB but looking at him he looks more of a CB for me. Still think we need a dedicated attacking RB

If you watch the analysis done by the Newcastle guy posted on the MIngueza thread on Palace Talk then you'll see he's clearly a RWB based on all the stats. He started as a CB at Barca but became a far more successful wingback when he moved to Celta Vigo, and he's spent most of his career so far in that position. Yes he can play across the back line but he's most effective as a wingback preferably on the right but he can operate on the left.
