I met her when she presented my daughter with an award for poetry, she was incredibly nice and took a lot of time talking to my daughter and the other kids present. A very intelligent woman, unless of course you hated her politics

I think it might have een women priests?

She became a devout catholic in later years.

I have now just seen on the news that a murder investigation is now being considered or may have started.

No one should lose their life for their political views,whatever those views are.

Not that I am on X but apparently there are many who are rejoicing at her death, a bit like Charlie Kirk. Seems some on here aren’t that unhappy at her desth

Diametrically opposed to her politics but always had a lot of time for her unwavering commitment to her principles. Give me politicians like her any day over the new breed.

What has happened to her sounds horrific. No idea how anyone could do that to anyone, let alone a 78 year old woman.

I posted that before I learned she had been murdered, which I did just moments ago.

The discussion in question had nothing at all to do with her sex, or Fry’s for that matter. It was entirely about how unfit and out of touch the Catholic Church is. The subject was “The Catholic Church is a Force for Good in the World". Fry being assisted by Christopher Hitchens in opposing the motion.

It’s the police and they literally have to these days to stop the online ghouls frothing at the bit and putting disinformation out there and whipping up potential public flashpoints.

A sad state of affairs.
