Ann Widdecombe

Not that I am on X but apparently there are many who are rejoicing at her death, a bit like Charlie Kirk. Seems some on here aren’t that unhappy at her desth
If that is aimed at me then you couldn’t be more wrong.

No one should ever be murdered. We must all die but we deserve to peacefully and in the fullness of time. Not cut off by events, of any kind.

I didn’t like her. Her passing doesn’t change that. Neither does it mean I am happy about it.

Exhibit A as to why they have to nip it in the bud.
Not at all. If it’s political is it not terror related ? They were quick to assume it’s not but do they really know. Countless times they said this and been wrong so I won’t believe a thing until it’s proven otherwise. Then I will accept I made the wrong assumption. Although I stated maybe as well !

Yup but maybe a white Muslim. Many convert so maybe it is terror related. Alternatively a nut job lefty poisoned by the lefts hate of reform!

Cant remember who but someone said in the reform thread that Farage was "overreacting" over his daughter's address made public and sky news going to her home.....

She was a conundrum.at one point loved for being an eccentric old biddy on Strictly but on another a radical opponent of anything she disagreed with be it on religion ( she joined the Catholic church after falling out with changes in the C of E or politics where she moved from the Tories to Reform.

As a constituency MP she was generally well.liked but on a national stage she became further to the right as she got older.

I do not look back on her political career with any real fondness will.not particularly mourn her passing but I know others will.
Quite wrong here. She didn't move from the Tories, rather the Tories moved from her and most conservative minded people. So not becoming further to the right, but the right moving further to the left.

I remember her being shredded by Stephen Fry on Intelligence Squared, where she defended Catholic attitudes alongside a priest whose name I cannot recall. You almost felt sympathy for her it was so overwhelming.

I was never a fan. If she possessed intelligence then I am so glad I don’t have any.

She wasn’t just not of her time. She wasn’t part of the previous ones either.

I am sure she was a kind and nice person in her private life. Never though a 21st century politician.
About time you realised how utterly void of intelligence you are.

One of the very few conviction politicians in my lifetime albeit without the gravitas of Margaret Thatcher, Enoch Powell or Tony Benn. Didnt deserve to go like that. RIP.
