Well despite the best efforts of Fifa and the yank ref they failed to account for the Halland factor .After Brazil were awarded the late pen I thought we were playing next goal wins .

Congratulations to Norway who alas will not be competing against England in the next round.
The goalkeeper Orjan Nyland performed heroics, I recall him playing for both A.Villa and Reading.
Nyland made some delightful saves in this country but he had problems commanding his area when the ball was in the air.

Its quite obvious that we have to keep the ball for long periods ,nick a goal and manage the game . As long as they dont bring Hugo Sanchez on I think we will be OK .

There have been claims in the US that the striker was given a double punishment by having to miss one match and almost a third of another - the last 27 minutes versus Bosnia and the tie with Belgium. This was grossly unfair, it was said by media commentators in the US.

Its a wonder we are not having sin bins , power plays and subs on the fly
