Definitely, we’re probably looking at the cheaper foreign market anyway
We got a championship gem with Wharton who made the seamless jump to the premier league, so I doubt we’d have been that lucky with another player who has yet to play with the big boys

They signed Dibling for a lot more (who we were also after) and that seems to have failed (well, so far anyways). If Kamada is going I'd rather us sign an experienced pro to help us with our European adventure (a Xhacha type). If Lacroix goes as well I feel we're lacking a real leader on the pitch.

To me that seems very cheap for the Championship player of the year and I wonder why other teams weren't after him
Maybe others concentrated on different targets knowing that in just about every piece written over the last few months ends with some form of declaration that the player prefers Everton ?

I think Olise, Eze and Wharton were all players of the season a league down. They didn’t do too bad. Personally I think this is one that has slipped through the net, but we can’t win them all when it comes to attracting talent.

It seems his preferred choice was always Everton, and with only a year left on his deal, Boro didn't have a strong position to negotiate. Seems a good deal for Everton, but I don't think we lost out because we couldn't match the fee.

Some supporters seem to have forgotten about Ozoh, i would be disappointed if he dosent have a full pre-season with the new manager, we only play 2CMers so i wouldn't rush in to sign anyone in CM until Ozoh gets a PS.

If Kamada does indeed sign a new deal and Wharton isn't for sale this window or has told the club he wants to stay another year), then I agree. Also, this may explain why we've dropped our interest in Hackney. I suspect we have limited funds available this window unless we sell someone.

I am hoping this doesn't end up being another one we mess about refuse to pay something which is not even big fees and the player goes on to be a super star.
We have done this too often.
Semenyo was a prime example refusing to pay 10m.
If it ends up goign the other way and the guys a dud well done to Palace for not going through with it (Lets remember we don't even know if we have tried to going in for him way too many made up stories)

I had a few days away recently, saw a guy in a Derby shirt, I asked him what he thought about Ozoh. Was full of praise for him, said the Derby fans would love the club to buy him, had a very good season up there. Hopefully Sage will at least have a look pre season.

I think we may have dodged a bullet here. The lack of any serious competition for his signature tells a story.
I'm going to stake my not particularly high reputation that Hackney will be a great success.
I have followed his progress since we were first linked with him when Freedman was at the club.
He has a different skillset to our other midfield players and I'm sorry he looks unlikely to be joining us.
