Labour Party politics

He just makes snide posts , I think for attention seeking, like Wisbech but thicker and nastier.

The rape gangs comment today was totally out of order.

Keyboard coward
He's a sort of poor Wisbelch tribute act.

My reading of events is that this seems to be a what could be labelled a 'Deep State' push against Starmer. As always, timing is everything. And with Burnham seemingly soon to be pushing for the top job (although I do wonder what skeletons in the cupboard might make a show on that one - his previous resignation from Government was a little sketchy) is this a less than subtle warning to Burnham that he needs to toe the globalist line? (and Defence is very much a Globalist stronghold on a multiple of levels).

Starts off normal but when you read down, the motives are pretty obvious. Labour can't have this both ways. They need to realise Islam is not that nuanced. It's either support Palestine and hate Israel or not. Support all aspects of Islam or not. That's it - and Labour in power are unable to do that openly.

Politics is pragmatism- Harold Macmillan.

Palestine and Islam are not interchangeable but I take your point.

Labour may find that some Islamic members will separate from them as it is both a national and supra national party while in power and cannot take the line those members demand.

That may not hurt Labour's electoral attraction among us infidels.

Starmer gone.

Problem is that Burnham will soon be in the same position as Starmer. That is unable to do anything about the welfare bill and mass immigration because of the intransigence of his backbenchers. He will soon have to keep taxing and spending to keep the country afloat. Will be an impotent figurehead by the time of the next election.

Burnham will spend your money through increased taxes ,he was not part of any manifesto pledge a wealth tax and property tax are his pet projects.

Surely, apart from him, every other Labour MP were part of a manifesto pledge? You know the one they got elected on, should be a GE now. I don’t know what they are scared of, if one held now, they would probably win albeit with a reduced majority.
Dont forget when Tories were changing leaders like there was no tomorrow, Labour were bleating about having a GE

Its all a version of just swapping around deck-chairs on the Titanic. Labour MP's believe Burnham is their only chance of hanging on to their jobs come the next GE. But given the economic situation, then Burnham has his hands tied.

We spend more than we earn. Hence the bond markets holding the ultimate veto card.

Be interesting to see what Burnham actually DOES. Suspect he might go for a rather high-profile cause.

Possibly a Brexit reversal decision? Or at least get it on the table? What was clear from the by-election is that Lib Dems and Greens will vote for Labour by way of keeping Reform out. As they would for another referendum on the EU. Merely thinking out loud on this one. Possibly even a snap election with this as the general theme? Encourage the tactical voting, on a national level, based on a manifesto of getting the country back into the EU?

But on everything else? Then I suspect business as usual. And there are definitely skeletons in Burnham's cupboard. That much is a definite, hence his previous resignation from Government.

Over-all though, the country is f***ed! LOL. We make Italy look stable.

The modern way in politics is to hang on like Mr. Wilkins Micawber and hope something better turns upgone are the days when Profumo as Minister of War had his leg over and the Prime minister resigned.
All I can say is Election promises are like pie crust easily broken. As far as past bleating it is part of the game "card him Ref" no Corinthian spirit left old chap.

And why we have such a universal disillusionment with our political class.

No doubt. It wouldn't surprise me if the media were hanging onto to stuff about him.

1. Let Burnham get rid of Starmer
2. Release dirt on Burnham that could have been done months ago.

I once worked with a guy who was a big Everton fan. His mate was a Sun journalist and claimed they had a story about an Evetron player being gay but they couldn't release it because the player had done nothing wrong e.g. cheating on spouse.

I don't know how true that story was by it rings true. We have all seen many times how public figures skeleton's come to life just at the right time (for the media).

Italy may be stable, but a closer comparison ought to be France and Germany, both all over the place financially France, and both politically.
