Listening to the self proclaimed “king of the North”, he doesn’t seem to think the Government are doing a a good job 🤔. Any comments from the left leaning posters?
I seem to remember when the Tories were changing leaders (PM) they were crying out for a General Election? Any different views now?

Very bad result for the far right i agree,Labour on the up and up.
To be fair, I was more refering to him taking over as PM, and suspect some more twists and turns to come but I do try to at least play this game with a modicum of credibility and therefore, have to acknowledge that my own hopes for Restore were proved to have little grounds.
This constituency is 95% white. And it still voted for its own destruction.
The UK as we know it, is in terminal decline.
The thinking on the Right needs to acknowledge this. And start looking for viable alternatives for the generations to come.
I have never complained about paying taxes, my ambition was to pay a million pound in tax because to do so you would keep an awful lot of money. I would be happy to help fund schools I saved them dough (my boy got a hefty scholarship) And the NHS. I am not greedy and believe in fair shares.
You know I have a lot of time for you as a poster Matov as you are one of the few that is totally transparent about what they want, but I don’t know how your ‘viable’ alternatives come about.
The people as right as you can’t even organise themselves into a viable alternative to register even a flicker on a by election, just argue with Reform voters who you probably align with 90% of your views on that would have voted for Reform if Restore didn’t stand.
I’m not sure how you go about trying to achieve what you want.

Actually, only 24k voted for Burnham, Nearly 20k voted for right wing parties. Had they all voted for Reform, it would have been a closer race in a hand picked Labour seat.
The lesson here is that if we want to rid ourselves of Labour, then we have to vote Reform. It's not complicated.

You're reading in rather a lot.
There has been a psunami of publicity behind Burnham. If only Reform had stood against him, Burnham would still have won. Had it been an "ordinary" by election where Labour fielded some DEI candidate, Reform would have won.

It's a fair point, and truth be told, not even totally sure of what I actually want beyond it ain't this. I tend towards a view of history as various examples of 'rise & fall' so am increasingly leaning towards a position that what we currently have, in terms of the 'traditional' nation state, may well have had its day. Suspect that it will probably end with a major economic crash that will effectively cause the entire edifice of Western Civilisation to implode because these current welfare state models are simply not sustainable and that the policy of seemingly having an open door policy towards migrants who actually bring nothing to the table beyond adding to that burden, because of a dominant political class's collective suicidal empathy is only going to speed that up.
But we will see. Who knows what the next few decades hold?
