Hands up I am a terrible investor. I bought shares in IT start up companies that failed and sold Amazon shares which if I had kept would make me a millionaire today.

SpaceX has been priced by the market at a huge value making Musk a Trillionaire. I don't get what the revenue stream is?

Is it in internet Satellite revenue stream? Surely not space exploration that is just a Black Hole (pardon the pun).

I have heard talk about AI Data Centres being launched into space as they will be more efficient (power wise) . Is this pie in the sky?

Anyway all I can see is that the shares will debut at top of the range price so there is no bargain for investors and the business is high risk because it will take huge investment and cutting edge technology.

But then what do I know.

Sensible answers please.

Just watched a very interesting documentry about Musk on BBC. Clever man but as mad as a box of frogs
Must people of that calibre are, Nikola Tesla was an oddball and a genius. However it was Edison who made practical use of his inventions and made money.

Bill Gates would be the modern equivalent of Edison, not a great inventor but great at seeing the potential of other peoples work (MS Dos and Windows) for example.

Musk is as bright as Tesla but with the business acumen of Edison.

My opinion on Musk is that what he says is normally correct and he delivers.

What he gets wrong....or oversells is the time frame.

I think the global economy will be rocky for some time yet, so I see buying shares like his are long term bets.

The most competent people are attracted to his companies and thus while he leads them I don't see failure. But his products will remain expensive and I think it'll be years before those bets pan out.

When an Iran deal is signed the US stock market will go on a bull run dragging other indices with it.

There is a school of thought some investors will sell parts of their portfolios to get cash to get on the SpaceX bandwagon.

I used to follow Jim Slater and his Zulu Principal which is essentially study very small niche markets and be expert in specific specialist companies. And I've never owned any shares that went up, but I do like the theory.

The valuation of SpaceX is truly bloated and not reflected in the financials. They only made 6 billion last year yet have a 1.7 Trillion dollar valuation. Meta by comparison made 229 billion last year and have a significantly lower valuation. Its truly overhyped to the maximum and I am not touching until the price of those shares go down significantly. When it drops hard thats your time to buy. Think like a millionaire would.

There is also the dark cloud of exit liquidity looming. The shares are currently in a lock up period, when that lock up period is lifted, expect a rug pull of biblical proportions.

You would be far better off paying for a decent investing book by Andrew Craig. Taught me everything I needed to know. All of my stock investments have made me money so far. "How to Own The World by Andrew Craig" Is the one I read.

The SpaceX IPO cannot be viewed through a conventional investing lens, it is unique.

Nikkei 225 is going great guns over here

Would not consider pointing out some ones flaws means you hate them plus I don't believe Pie once told a lie. IMO a genius is someone how contributes and aids humanity which is lacking in Musk
You do know Pie is not real.

He is giving opinions.

He was a BBC darling and knew what politics got you work in those days.

Anyone who posts this kind of vitriol cannot be sensibly engaged in debate

"Just showing what a disgusting excuse for a human being he is, nothing but low life scum who Hitler would be proud of 😡😡"

By the way , it's " would have " not " would be ". Present tense not really the thing for dead people.

Wooh!!! Take chill pill mate. Ranting at me does not help your argument and pulling me up on grammer is childish and condesending (think I spelt it right ).
Thing is I'm happy to engage in a healthy debate but not a slagging match.
As the saying goes opnions are like arseholes every one has one 🤣🤣

It's not a rant.

Conflating Trump and Hitler is ok in your world, God help us.

That's actually quite funny if meant as a joke. ( highlighted in bold )

I pointed out your on spelling not grammar!

Now I feel somewhat guilty as either your spelling is truly awful or you don't bother to check what you post.

Moving on

What he says politically is dangerous, often completely misinformed and totally unwelcome in places he has no legitimate interest in.

He is a technical visionary who has, like others in the USA, managed to convince people that business competence can be transferred into the world of politics.

I haven’t bought his shares. Nor will I. I sense an enormous bubble surrounded by pricks.

I do agree however I still suggest waiting for it to come down after the early investors and employee bag holders cash out. You do not want to be their exit liquidity in something like this. Only a sucker would take that kind of risk now.

I feel we are seeing things differently which is a good thing and stops the world getting boring. I respect your point of view even if I don't agree. Just one point if I may at no time did I mention Trump. As for my spelling apologies I am 70 with a small shake in my hand even so I should check my posts ( b****** when eating peas off a fork 😂) Any way as a famous charactor once said " live long and prosper "

And why is that so difficult? Probably because (including the UK)_government is to big & bloated Something quite mundane like a lock on a door on one of NASAs rockets was costing the tax payer $1500. Musk & his team of engineers solved the problem & the cost was $35.
