Eagles playing at the World Cup

Deschamps seems to have realised Max is a better centre back than Konaté. Hopefully he realises playing regularly at Palace is his best option at the moment and enough to get him into the national team. If France go all the way he might get a game in the final. Saliba is carrying a back injury.
Clickbait agrees with you . . .

As much it would have amused me to see the USA fall flat on their face in their opener just watched the highlights and they put in a stupendous performance against Paraguay - and it was great to see Chris Richards out there and within a few inches of getting a goal.

Obviously didn't watch the whole game but the attacking fluency of their attacks was very impressive against a Paraguay side that is supposedly decent defensively. Got opened up time and time again like a tin of sardines.

Great to see football giving basketball some competition stateside. If the USA viewing public didn't love that then they are never going to 'get soccer'.

Agree completely with you, they look very well coached.

Good luck Chadi.

Having watched Richard’s successfully create WC history with a 100% pass success, I’m looking forward to seeing Riad battling with Raphinia and Vini Jnr.
I thought he played really well.

Brazil's main threat was down their left side (Vini Jr). Riad helped to keep the right side relatively quiet.

Nice to see Morocco help Chadi get match fit before next season.
It's good for our young players but probably a bit of a burden for our older players if they go into the latter stages of the tournament. Lacroix for example, Richards for example. We need them both back, rested yet ready to go. The right balance. I'm secretly hoping our players play a bit but not too much. I'm far more interested in Palace than any player's career.

Tbh half of our players there won't feature that much. Munoz, Lerma, Richards, Riad, Sarr and Kamada (who may no longer be our player) will be the only ones getting regular playing time. You'd imagine most of them will also get to no further than the last 16.

Henderson, Mateta, Lacroix, Goodman, Pino and JSL will get some minutes but I wouldn't have thought will feature that much. Possibly JSL, but he needs to improve his fitness and sharpness anyway after half a season on Wolves bench.

I know he's missed an awful lot of football and hasn't had a proper preseason, but Riad always looks knackered and a bit heavy. I'm happy for him to get lots of games in high temperatures and possibly even altitude. Or, get him on the fat jabs!

Here endeth my medical assessment.

He's in the right country - an overweight American? As if.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Some players it could be beneficial for them to have a good World Cup as it would add to their resale value… but most of the players we have here I wouldn’t want to leave.

As you say young players and maybe those who didn’t have a great season JSL finding form would be great, Yeremy following on from how he finished the season (not how we he started) would be nice.
