The fact Parish said in a very recent interview (sorry, no link) that he would like to remain friends with Glasner, is about the most open point Parish has made public about their relationship.
I don't think either of them will go out of their way to socialise, but this is about professional conduct. Parish is now finding potential replacement options are reducing after Slot's sacking. Glasner still touting his services.
Palace have 3 trophies in a whirlwind period and almost immediately it seems like the dismantling of the team of the early 1990's all over again.

Parish: " the squad is strong enough to win the conference league and finish 10th-15th in the league. If it gets dicey then I'll authorise some spending in January"

We could have spent £200m in the summer window and he still would have gone. It’s his MO. He never stays anywhere long. I still think he was trying to get fired. That’s all water under the bridge now though.

Glasner is leaving on a high but we have no manager, every chance of losing our best players, and more European football next season. It has the potential to be our toughest season yet. Clearly not a “challenge” he fancied.

I agree. He saw nothing but downslopes for himself if he stayed. Yes, we will have another European adventure but in a much tougher league having lost key players without any certainty about quality replacements.

It’s always best to quit when you are ahead with your reputation intact. He is certainly ahead but the memory of his winter meltdown stains his reputation. Other Chairmen will be reluctant to take on an individual with a history of success in short stays and dogged reliance on only one style and the capacity for open criticism. Whilst I have obviously enjoyed the success the memory of his behaviour remains.

Finding the replacement is not straight forward in all these circumstances. Next year will be challenging. Expectations have been raised at the same time as our capacity to meet them will be depleted. Who wants to have to steer us through such a time?

On Wednesday after Parish and Glasner jointly lifted the trophy in front of the fans, Parish pointedly passed the Conference League trophy to Glasner, inviting him to raise the trophy on his own, to accept the adulation of the fans and to say thank you to them for their support. It was a lovely moment. Whatever their current relationship, this showed the huge respect in which Parish holds Glasner.

I agree with you. I don't see Glasner getting on there. Heard there's all kinds of issues. Plus, Germans and Italians never quite works out.

On that High Performace podcast Parish said two things - he's the only one with all the information, and he isn't super honest about what he does because the media will twist it and cause havoc, so he has to be discrete. We can talk about it until we are blue in the face but until he decies to open up we will never know. Parish has a conservative streak so I can see him saying "Let's see how we get on with a small squad," last August but when it was obvious it was too small he took decisive action to bolster it.

SP needs to find a way of finding a manager who is tactically much more adaptive and who can quickly assess what home talent from the academy and loanees can be utilised to bolster the squad.

Cardines looks as if he’s got a bright future. Maybe Ozoh will not be loaned out next season and given a chance. And, there may be others.

Clearly, recent signings like Johnson, Pino and JSL have to greatly improve.

We also have to find ways of keeping Wharton, Kamada, Munoz, Lacroix and Mateta for at least another season.

So, quite a challenge, plus players returning tired after the World Cup.

Good luck, Steve. You’ve got a very busy few weeks ahead, particularly with the ‘bin dippers’ apparently nicking Iraola.

I think it's a psychological thing with Ollie, probably the same with Iraola. They stick with their short term contracts at clubs that offer a good chance of success for them in the knowledge that one day the good times will come tumbling down. So they clear off before that happens and leave a successful legacy behind.

Better than having the ignominy of being sacked like Slot.

I think you got this spot on. It’s the only thing that makes sense on the spending in January

We'll see where Glasner ends up next. He's mentioned his family on many occasions and in spite of a great salary somewhere, I think there may be some pressure to be nearer home. That goes for his support team too. Perhaps relevant, that there never seemed any desire to move his family to the UK and, I think, breaks/holidays were usually back in Germany/Austria.

His family life may well be the biggest factor in his leaving. As you say he was basically here alone for the period of his contract. Surely two seasons of that would put a strain on any family.

There are moments where Parish is a CEO and also a fan.. that moment was him being a fan...

He's also a smart guy... damage control... he wants things to look good for PR.

We got to be concerned with our league finish , we should have bailed out of the carabo Cup to Liverpool ( which is acceptable) our squad could not compete with early stages of the conference league caraboa cup and premier league, the 3rd round. Of the Fa cup don't start until January and we could have had a nice little run and put up a decent defence, After Glasner went vocal and said he was going to leave ( hoping maybe to get sacked) felt he always had the conference to fall back on end of season to save the season, As much as I am grateful to Glasner we have to learn from this season going into next as it's going to be much Harder.
