Glasner is a Glazier....Our best manager ever ?

FA Cup, Community Shield, Conference League winners.
An incredible achievement.
Thank you Oliver Glasner and the very best for the future.
I tip my hat in reverence.
He will be a hard 'Act' to follow.
Agree wholly, we have definitely benefited from have a top, top coach who has improved our players in a relatively short period of time.

Hear Hear.
Olivier Glasner has provided us with the greatest time in our history during a period when we lost key players Guehi and Eze.
Our successes under him were just a distant dream.

Just don't understand why he's going.
My take on it is that he's just not a long term commitment kinda guy. He likes to go in, do a job, and leave. And that's ok. A little sad that this chapter is over, but what a chapter it was. I can see why you'd want to move on after what he's achieved - it's hard to imagine topping what has happened in the last 2.5 yrs. Maybe hes acutely aware of this.

correct. Methinks of many other top managers who are now the same. Long-term is now very very rare in top football management.

For certain Glasner will win other trophies in his forthcoming career. The bloke is a winner , and now hot property in the management market. Palace have always had fire-fighters and relegation dogfight specialists in the past. My head is spinning from the last 18 months.

I think primarily it's because that's what he does. Wins trophies, moves to next challenge.

Secondarily is that he wanted backing in last Summer's window and a clear strategy but our board took too long on both scores.

Finally, it's because he's said he's going and doesn't want to go back on it.
Nailed it.
A man of principle
Palace's greatest ever manager,....so far 🙂

i will disagree with you for one reason, Glasner got us a trophy this week AFTER LOSING Eze, Olise and Guehi. And the new purchases struggling to fill their big boots.
The sticking point for me will always be that he persisted to field 5 at the back for a run of games where Munoz and Sarr were out and we did incredibly badly. You could argue without those two we'd always struggle, but I could not see a logical reason to play with wingbacks when your best wingback, and his overlap buddy were daffy ducked. Very few managers seem to have a plan B these days, but I feel like a good manager is one that can reshape tactics to fit his squad and make tactical changes/substitutions to alter the course of the game for the better. Not really sold on Glasner being able to do that. Granted, I will look back and probably say to people "best manager we ever had" because of the success. I'm certainly not going to bad mouth him to neutrals. I definitely wish he wasn't going. But there's this sticking point for me that says "he managed us like Pardew, but just got a couple more key results".

Napoleon always favoured those Generals that often 'got lucky' in battles. Pardew was never lucky - in fact he was often beset by hoppy bouncey tappey last minute unlucky balls in front of our goal.

That has been the craziest rollercoaster season of all time - no hyperbole. From last summer, having to plead our case at tribunal to stay in the Europa through unbeaten runs to nosediving in the league, player sales, manager tantrums...the Macc Lads debacle:drunk:

But here we are, thankful to the magician Oli Glasner and wishing him the best in his next role!!!
