I’d love to see Iraloa but I really can’t get my head around it. Why would you leave Bournemouth for us. They are a better team, already in Europe with some great young players. We are going to be going through a big rebuild. Doesn’t make any sense.

If he comes to us, Steve Parish must have some dodgy photos of him or something because this is not going to happen otherwise, his stock is far too high at the moment, he could take his pick of a number of clubs much higher up the food chain than us

I voted for Iraola from the beginning even if it seemed unlikely then. Very happy it seemed to become a more realistic proposition in the past few weeks - though we could easily get gazumped.

All these other European names sound intriguing but I imagine a lot will be more interested if we are in the Europa League.

Next Wednesday is another chance for a trophy, which at the moment is all I'm interested in, but a lot else depends on it. Who the manager is. Which players will stay. Which players will sign new contracts. Who we could buy. The finances.

Along with the nagging doubt whether we can build a squad to be competitive in two competitions. Spurs suffered last year and this with their European commitments. I think we did too. Well done to Villa for doing both.

I don't recall ever seeing so much crazy speculation about who might be our next manager.

Perm any one of a dozen names. At least Dyche seems to have dropped off our radar.

Liverpool are reported to be interested and that as Lanzo has said ends any speculation. We need to move on and see who actually wants to come here sadly will be a short list, has Razor Ruddock stopped advertising diet pills yet?
Until I see a proper media outlet reporting that Liverpool are looking at Iraola, or better still that they've even sacked Slot I think I'll wait and see instead moving on based on a bit of gossip (probably made up in a teenager's bedroom)

Iraola took a team smaller than Palace and elevated them to within touching distance of the Champions League places. His team is hard working, strong and consistent. But he feels he has taken them either as far as he can or he realises how hard it will be with a small stadium, fanbase, resources (without the wealthy owner) to take them further so he has decided to move on.
Its been reported he wants to stay in the Premier League. Its been reported he wants to live/work in London. In the absence of a Chelsea, Arsenal job Palace represents an interesting challenge. A good team that has recently won a major trophy. Is in a good position to win a European trophy and (if so) we will be able to offer Europa League football. looking at the squad we have and he will probably be given money to strengthen further he may well see Palace as a bigger club than Bournemouth at a far stronger starting point that Bournemouth were at when he arrived there and think that he can elevate Palace the same way he did Bournemouth.
Makes perfect sense.

I never really thought that we would get Irola, no matter what money was put to him.

Given the news about Pep today, I could actually see him going into City. Maybe he knew something was afoot at City.

Hopefully, we have not put all our eggs in one basket.

A bit like with Glasner thought it isn’t really career progression for him. His stock is very high now. I’d have thought he’d want to turn that into an opportunity to manage a club with a chance of challenging in the league or in the Champions Legaue. Don’t get me wrong I’d love it to happen but for him it feels a bit like playing the same record twice.

An awful lot is made in a teenager's bedroom!😵

While I see totally where you are coming from I just dont buy into this belief that Bournemouth are historically or even in footballing terms as big a club as Palace. In terms of league position they are doing fantastically well right now but traditionally they have spent nearly all their history in the 3rd and 4th tier of English football. They have a tiny stadium, a small fanbase (despite hardly any competition geographically around them). When you look at trophies as well its factual to say they are a smaller club than Wigan. Palace offers bigger in every department AND we're a London club.
Do not get me wrong, I have no issue whatsoever with Bournemouth. They are a nice little club who are flying at the moment but should Iraola move to Palace it is most definitely not a sideways step. Of course its not as big a step as Chelsea, Arsenal or even Spurs in London. Clubs who have more trophies and bigger fanbases/stadiums than us but we are still a significant step up from Bournemouth.
I'm guessing people just dont seem to be able to see that because for the first time in forever they are as high as they are in the Premier League.
