Wharton clearly offers more than Henderson. Tuchel's managing us like Germany but he probably didn't notice they've been s*** 💩💩💩 for years. I don't mind Mainoo but at the expense of Gibbs White or Palmer or Foden, it's ridiculous. Crap selection. He'll be picking Ben White as Captain next.

Both Wharton and Foden have the ability to make that 'Killer' pass to open up a defence.
Henderson is 35, is in the 'Twilight' of his career, his best days back in the mists of time.

Two different players IMO.

I'd also add that Palmer has had a poor season and not shone when it's mattered most for England.

In the past 12 months or so Wharton has won silverware in a team with a far more limited squad than Chelsea's, is in a European final, has the stats to back him and has had a good season.

Without intending to sound patronising or insulting, and I really mean that sincerely this is just my opinion, I think Palmer's role within a football team is a bit more 'exciting' than Whartons purely because it is more attacking. I think it is therefore juvenile to consider this to mean that he adds 'more' to the team.

The one thing england have missed is exactly what wharton offers, I look forward to watching us struggle to break down the first half decent team we play, with them knocking it back and fourth before kane gets bored and drops into the no 6 role, with no one up top.

I can understand Palmer and Foden missing out. Both had shocking seasons. Surprised at Maguire though, as he provides goals from the back, has always been pretty consistent in an England Shirt and will provide some experience in a largely inexperienced back line.

We've an embarrassment of choices at no.10 - someone's going to miss out. but I am surprised MGW is to be overlooked, especially when your taking Rice, Mainoo, Anderson AND Henderson

But It's the fullbacks that make no sense to me. Nico O'reilly, Reece James, Djed spence, and Livermento? that's 2 starters, and 2 flakey injured backups. The omission of Lewis Hall for DjedSpence is baffling. (and I still think Mitchells worth going as the best defender).

Up front we are stuggling for options. and probably why we won't win. that's why I actually admire the inclusion of Toney. He's a natural striker, who can come on and make a difference. A gamble, maybe, but when your only other option is Danny Welbeck, a worthwhile one.

I am not furnished with information as to his form this season but it is accepted that the League in which he has been 'Ploughing his furrow' is far inferior in quality to that of the PL.
Toney would be useful in a penalty shoot out !

I’ve just listened to some guff about they’ve picked players judged on who can cope best with the heat after stats gathered from their hot weather camp last June.
I know the heat could play a big part, especially as England can look laboured after a long season in tournaments anyway, but I’m not having that as an excuse for some of the Germans crazy decisions

Sky pundits this morning reckon Toney is in for penalty shootouts when Kane has gone off knackered after an hour. Not a bad gig as long as he scores.
The media have gone quiet on Bellingham who was the future of England football not long ago.

More likely he'll want to leave knowing he'll be a shoe in if he's at a big club. Loads going aren't good enough. They're not that good in the Premier League.

His first England game was his best so he hasn't forced the issue with great performances though unlucky with timing of injuries and so on. But having Jordan Henderson picked ahead of him is just bizarre even though Tuchel said that he wanted that Henderson in the squad basically as a cheerleader on the day of his very first squad. Weird then. Weirder now.

Hopefully Adam will show them exactly what the country is missing next Wednesday with another masterclass of midfield play that will heap a whole load of difficult questions on Tuchel's head.

Good points. Both have some underlying injuries that could do with a proper rest. Also ready for first game of the season though if England go out early that probably won't be an issue for any of the national squad.

They have not missed anything he offers.

He doesn't break down anything evidence is in look at our Conference games was he breaking down all those low blocks nope.

All round his games not good enough yet.
