I'll really be glad to see the back end of the current league season. It's largely been a hard and frustrating watch, with only a few highlights - 3-0 at Viila, 2-1 at home to Liverpool, and 3-1 at Spurs - I can't think of many others though.

I hope everyone has come through that game without any injuries.

It has been a slog, but last summer most of us were expecting it with all the Thursday European games and the small squad, so at least we stayed out of trouble, despite recently looking over our shoulders at what was going on below us.
At least, despite some of the games at Selhurst not exactly being classics, the European campaign has given us something different this season to break up the mundane league stuff

I think most teams could say the same , the standard of refereeing since the introduction of VAR has been on a downward curve .
You would think with the introduction of the tech they would be better but somehow they are getting worse ,as is the man watching the video . Its as if its pot luck when an incident happens ,has he gone out for a fag or something ,sometimes it seems they are not there at all ...😕

I mean we feel a bit aggrieved but imagine being a Forest fan today. That was an outrageous decision in that game. If that had been in a European league everyone would be deeply suspicious of corruption

100%, completely agree.

If we do win vs Real Vallecano though, will all be worth it.

The week to week has not made for much fun this year however and I’d like to see it return TBH.

16(so far) mid week games in Europe has seriously stretched us as well, but then we knew that would happen and we’ll take it again next season🙏🏽

In commentary it was mentioned that only Wolves have scored less goals from 'Open Play' this season.
Only 4 PL wins at 'Selhurst Park' in 18 games.
We are however going to compete in the PL next season - unlike W.Ham !!

The problem has been holding onto leads, we have dropped 21 points from winning positions this season, only being outdone by Newcastle with 27. If we had kept most of those points, we would of been in with a shout of Champions League.

In terms of the League we have regressed from last season, when we finished 12th on 53 points.
However we played 48 games last season, this season will end with us playing 60 games.

That is exactly my thoughts. Ffs Brennan get up, then actually no it should have been a penalty.
We have had some absolute sh!t decisions this whole season. 🤬

If you are going to go down with a shirt pull it might help your cause if you go over backwards not forwards. All that aside it was a penalty, I can not understand how VAR says no penalty.

I have consistently stated that referees are humans and err from time to time.

And VAR is supposed to correct these 'human errors' by referees.
In this there are many occasions when it palpably fails and adds error upon original error, the latest of which was in the Manchester United game today.

Furthermore, if one accepts that the referee missed Johnson having his shirt nearly ripped off in the penalty area earlier, surely VAR should intervene.

It seems to me that we currently have the worst of both worlds - referees losing authority and accountability through the introduction of VAR and VAR being implemented erratically e g on handballs, where lines are drawn and which pushes in the area are penalised.

On balance I'd prefer to do away with VAR and go back to having referees as the arbiter ( yes even with the occasional 'human error').

VAR disallowed the penalty appeal because it was 'accidental'.

But that is not the law anymore, hasn't been for some time, deliberate handball many would like to see returned, including me, but I think this will be error no.24.
