This seems to be a push from Wes Streeting. Makes sense. Rayner seems to have effectively declared for Burnham and he would probably stroll into the leadership role. Streeting has a small window of opportunity to go for it.
Let's be honest, who ever it is, they will be even less popular than Starmer within 6 months.

Starmer might be as much use as a chocolate teapot but who is any better? Burnham isn’t an MP and Rayner is crackers. Shabana Mahmood is too right wing for the rest of them so it will be a s*** show whoever it is. Smarmy Wes Streeting?
This is the wider point. There is literally NOBODY in frontline politics worthy of the job. Not a single one. We have a political class, across the mainstream spectrum, who are just an utter waste of space.
This crisis now goes well beyond the traditional Left/Right divide.

If one believes that our country has "Gone to the dogs", one will form a significantly greater negative view if the likes of Burnham, Rayner and Miliband get their hands on the levers of power and deliver their hard-left agenda.A complete and utter disaster for our nation.
It is now 9% so obviously 91% are happy. Two years ago the Country elected Sir Keir Starmer now the media are trying very hard to depose him, this is not democratic it is a sore infected by the venal phone tapping media, in future we won't have a democracy we will ask the newspapers to run a straw poll.
Only for three years and then you can watch Reform replace you and the rats that deserted a sinking ship. If Tory was a PLC no one would think of investing you are politically bankrupt without administration.

The biggest sin in modern politics seems to be not having a huge charisma. Biden lacked one, so does Starmer. Trump and Farage are both bereft of real policy making abilities but can communicate.
Twitching is very slightly different but its healthy and legal to do it outdoors.
