I read the other day that Bournemouth are also losing Simon Francis (technical director and ex player) to a Saudi team. He's been responsible for getting in a number of impressive talents into the Bournemouth squad and then selling for huge profits. With him and Freedman maybe Saudi have realised spending mega bucks on aging stars is an awful business strategy and are instead turning towards the games top recruiters. I imagine that they're being handsomely rewarded for their troubles mind you.

Freedman's job in saudi was to redevelop and build a town/city not to be a dof at a team.

i would agree with you if it were a couple of underperforming newcomers. But apart from Canvot, i am not impressed with ALL OF THAT BIG SPENDING.

But most people moan about almost every signing.

Why are we signing Hendo when we have Sam Johnstone
Letting Anderson go is suicide, Larcoix isnt up to it
Sarr will never replace Olise
Wharton isnt ready for prem football
Kamada is the worst signing of all time
Canvot will never make it

Almost to a man, every player has been slagged off. But more often than not, they come good. Almost every good signing has taken some time to bed in, adapt and prove their worth. Sometimes that takes a couple of weeks, sometimes a couple of months.

Its relatively early days, but Larsson has proved that he can score.

Johnson has been terrible, but I think there is more to come, if he can get used to the system, or we play a system that suits him more.

Johnson needs to buck his f***ing ideas up quick smart. It's not us that need to change.

Dougie seems to perform well. However, he also seems to get his head turned rather too easily and clears off at the drop of a hat

Yep, unfortunately I'm yet to see anything to suggest he won't become our worst ever pound for pound signing. He has so little impact on games, I personally can't see how even a formation change will help him as he certainly won't be first choice in any position in a 433 or 4231.

there have been many duds too - a 2/3s success rate seems an above average return.

During our promotion year on transfer deadline week we signed Bolasie, Delaney (both unbelievable for us) and remember Darcy Blake!

Under DF we made some very good signings, especially from the championship, however, players like Ahamada, Meyer and even Eddie N were strange and expensive choices and were never going to fit into our system.

Perhaps the most bizarre signing was Franca. I know this may have been via Textor but as the DoF surely he could have overruled.
