Of course it does. Bournemouth are a much smaller club than Palace who have few fans and (without a billionaire propping them up) very limited resources. Plus they have spent the majority of their history in the third and forth tier of English football. Wigan are a bigger club than Bournemouth. They have won an FA cup. Bournemouth have won nothing. Dont get me wrong, I dont have an issue with them and will admit to even willing them on when they play the bigger clubs.
This all said, of course Palace is a step up from Bournemouth and a big one. We may not be top 6 but theres only 6 teams in the country that are!
Bill Foley is worth about $3B

You have to know when the right time is to leave a club, if you intend to move up the managerial ladder, Bournemouth are flying high at the moment, and Iraola stock is high. but even if they qualify for the Champions league his stock can drop quickly, bad start in the league next season, early exit in the CL, then he isn't as appealing, get out at the right time, i will say this about Glasner, he certainly knows the right time to leave a club.

Seems like Iraola is the first choice. He is also linked to UTD and Chelsea. I can see UTD keeping Carrick for another year because he has done well. Chelsea you never know could try and hijack the deal. Iraola is probably the best option for Palace. Proven in the Premier League. Other managers that worked in the EPL include Marco Silva and Thomas Frank. Most Palace fans would rather have Iraola. From LA Liga you have Marcellino who is leaving Villareal taking them to the UCL next year. Another manager that Palace were linked with before was Getafe's head coach (José Bordalás).

If Palace do get Iraola they will change their formation to a back 4. Will they give him 3-4 players to buy in the summer?

If he signs this would be the current XI (Henderson, Mitchell, Canvot, Lacroix, Munoz, Wharton, Kamada, Sarr, Pino, Johnson, Mateta (4-2-3-1)

One thing that excites me about Iroala is there is zero chance of him joining Palace unless he has assurances he will have a bit of money to spend and wont have to sell anyone he doesn't want to lose. Of course Palace could say no to that but I'd be pretty certain he would then say thanks but no thanks.
Bringing in someone of Iroala's calibre is for me an amazing opportunity to build upon the great work that Glasner has already achieved. None of the other names excite me if I'm honest.
Dyche Too defensive, Frank Too pragmatic, Lampard at this stage he is only proven at Championship level.

Andoni Iraola has no experience managing in Europe and the attraction of Palace is to gain it in the Europa League and thats the rub. If we don’t win the Uefa Conference League then I believe there is little chance him joining. Of course he will want assurances players like Wharton, Sarr and the defenders stay but he has built a very good reputation and I think they would be happy to for a bit longer. Fingers crossed for Leipzig!

And ironically he would have got it staying put

Still makes me wonder about club ownership. Are we expecting a good transfer budget? I can't see how with our recent buys. Unless we know we're selling. Which is also an obvious concern.
I don't see why Iraola would want to come without a decent budget. We've clearly struggled to balance Europe and the League. Frankly, we need a bigger squad. We need that even without Europe in my opinion. If we buy Guessand, we're ok on the wings, we're ok in goal. That's about it.
Every other position we need one player. We need maybe two midfielders (yes, I know we're not going to), we need a striker as Mateta is leaving, we need centre back cover even with Canvot and Riad (was pissed off to see O'Brien at Everton), we need full back cover unless we use Imray. Even then we could do with someone who can play both sides full back. With a flat four, we could use Canvot or Richards. A bit like how we used Tomkins and Kelly. But they weren't good really, if we admit it to ourselves. Devenny as a full back perhaps? At a push but not convincing.
Squad cover is paper thin and not up to the standard of who they replace currently. We have a good first eleven and nothing else. We've seen it time and time again this season.

I think Chelsea will go for a manager who has proven pedigree at managing a big club. They've dabbled in up-and-coming managers without success and I think this time they'll go for someone like Alonso. I don't necessarily think that means Iraola will come to us. It still feels like that narrative is being pushed by the press and doesn't make a great deal of sense, but who knows. Fingers crossed.

we all know it's going to be Dyche who gets the job in the end.

In English:

Crystal Palace are making significant progress in their pursuit of Andoni Iraola. The London club believe they have strong arguments in their favor in discussions with the Spanish coach, particularly regarding the sporting project, the stability offered, and the freedom to work effectively as a manager. Chelsea remain attentive to the situation.

The Premier League is where the money is for managers as well as for players. Iraola may want to stay in this league and if it's true that he's not getting the United job and if he sees Chelsea as a poisoned chalice that needs sorting somewhat before risking his reputation, he may well settle on coming to us IF we win the ECL and are going to play in the Europa League next season. The only other club that might be of interest to him is Newcastle if they decide Howe has taken them as far as he can.

PS. I would hope that Parish has moved beyond wanting a relegation fighter such as Dyche BUT looking at what our squad may look like come the end of the Summer transfer window, he may view Dyche as the only viable option to try and keep us in the PL.

The thing is, he is already a PL manager with a good squad. Surely he had a plan when he chose not to sign a new deal with BAFC? Was that plan really to join us? Maybe. I hope so. Glasner was a planned appointment and not a panic job, so there is hope that whoever we get is not out of desperation. If we do get Iraola then patience may be the key, given how long it took for Bournemouth to start getting results under him when he first joined.

I think it makes more sense the more you think about it. There have been strong rumours Iraola fancies living/working in London. It is also pretty much common knowledge amongst the media that he would only want to leave the Premier League for Bilbao. A job he will not now be getting.
Chelsea is a basket case at the moment and next season they are going to be heavily restricted on what they spend even if they sell. Even if that wasn't the case he knows if he goes there he will not get any time at all to start winning regularly. At Palace he will have to work within a pre agreed financial budget but other than that he'll get time, stability, support and very patient fans (except that Lanzo fella that thinks Glasner should have qualified for the Champions League by now!) He'll be walking into a team of hungry and talented players that have had success but are eager for more.
I'm not saying its by any means certain he'll come but I think its a lot less of a pipe dream than some are claiming. Even the media are seeing this as a very realistic next move for him.

I've never understood the talk about Dyche. Yeah, he gets lowly teams to run about and growl a bit, then they either get relegated or he gets the sack - the end. Some will still insist he is a perfect fit for Palace...
Got a rag-tag Burnley squad into Europe and kept them in the prem for a long time.

He was on track to keep Notts in the EPL this season before their barmy mafia boss wielded the axe.

Not a good fit for us, we have past that stage in our history, I hope at least. But feel your description of him to be harsh.

On a recent visit to a beach cafe, a couple of gentleman of a certain vintage, were in discussion about football in general and commented that should "Palace get relegated" their managerial ambitions will have to be revised, or words to this effect.
I do not know these chaps, never set eyes on them before and never made any comment.
Mathematicians were they?
