Dermot Gallagher didn't think it was a penalty but it stood because VAR didn't find an angle to prove the referee was wrong until 22 minutes later. By extension they didn't find an angle proving he was right either.

Just seen Chelsea denied 2 penalties, one blantent hand ball, the arm was at 45 degrees to the body, then a rugby tackle on the striker, also waved away by VAR. How Bournemouth got awarded one yesterday was a disgrace, but Peter Banks on VAR has form.
Chelsea eventually got a penalty and promptly missed it.

I agree I think the fans and management have got carried away with the possibility of winning minor silverware. The premier league is our bread and butter and we should always play our strongest team to win match.

I must admit I'm also a little worried as we still need points to secure mathematical safety and we can't be sure that we can win any of our remaining EPL games (Everton & Arsenal-home, then Man City & Brentford away). Both West Ham or Tottenham could win three on the bounce and achieve 45 or 46 pts.
Could we then claim the record for being the first team to be relegated on 43 points in a 38 game season, this would go with our record of 49 points in 42 game season?

It's amusing, though, that he's now stuck with the daft accent he puts on because he thinks no one will be able to understand him otherwise. Luckily there is no one involved in football who has any kind of an accent or we'd all be lost.

I don’t know about Riad. He was a liability in the first half. Miles out of position a lot of the time and some very poor decisions. At one point he was ahead of our midfield and went to ground missing the ball and letting them break up field. Also looked off the pace and physically lightweight. Did improve when Mitchell came on but looks a long way off being somebody we can trust regularly in the league.

Hmm, kinda agree with your 1st bit, but, 'physically lightweight'? No chance, he won a lot of battles, mainly Devenny left him stranded. Agree with 2nd bit as he had someone he had trust in & who had trust in him. I'd back him next season.

More than likely he will be on duty for Morocco for at least the group matches and probably beyond that, at the World Cup. Some very useful experience.
