Weird current stat 23/4/26

Have you seen that we have weird goals stats:

1. Only the top 2 sides have conceded less goals.

2. Only the bottom 2 sides have scored more goals.

Only Palace would do this!!!

We have conceded 36 goals 16 in 5 matches , thats very good in my eyes , matchs are won by score lines not what the lge says about goals for and against , look at Bournemouth 52 - 52 and they are only just ahead of us in the lge , crazy thing is say another 15 goals for and we would be top 5 , this season ,

Yes I would like more goals from midfield would be nice , thats were we have failed , I don't have a issue at the moment only if we start leaking goals to Bournemouth level next season

Apart from that little late spell in glasners first season when we went mad, we’ve had trouble in that department for years in general. But I suppose if we got that balance of not conceding many and scoring lots of goals we’d be challenging arse and city for the title

I think this would be significantly improved if we sign 2 goal scoring midfielders (or 2 that at least hit the target).
Our current goals tally from midfielders (especially from outside the box) is absolutely rubbish.

1 Prem goal this season between our 4 regular midfielders, not one of our regulars Devenny scored it.

The other weird stat currently doing the rounds is that Eze has scored 6 goals in the Prem this season. 5 vs Spurs, 1 vs Palace. It almost seems like a personal vendetta.

The Spanish say that football is a small blanket - if you pull it up to keep your nose warm then your feet will get cold. We couldn't have had a significantly higher number of goals scored without also having a higher number of goals conceded. The two are directly connected. Last season we got 51 goals and let in the same number, so the relationship has stayed the same, just with lower totals.

I haven't checked it recently but for most of the season we were the worst for actual goals scored against our xG expected goals

So basically everything was working as it should except the finishing

If Mateta hadn’t fallen apart, that would make most of that difference. If we can get at least one of Mateta and/or Strand-Larsen firing on all cylinders next season, we would be looking at breaking our highest league finish as an absolute bare minimum.

Also the same goes for Munoz, he needs a bit of work at the moment, but a fully in-form Munoz basically means limitless supply for those two.

Yes,. I will be disappointed if he's not in our 1st team squad next season alongside Ozoh, both of whom have shown they are more than comfortable in the Championship.

I keep reading that we should buy the best in that league, so why not use our own players who are doing well at their Championship loan clubs?

The difference in the Premier and Championship is huge, many aren't good enough to step up, even if they do well in the Championship.
