Weird current stat 23/4/26

Yes,. I will be disappointed if he's not in our 1st team squad next season alongside Ozoh, both of whom have shown they are more than comfortable in the Championship.

I keep reading that we should buy the best in that league, so why not use our own players who are doing well at their Championship loan clubs?
Ozoh and Imray were the two most likely to make the breakthrough, barring injuries. They seem to have come through and it would be a sad indictment of our academy if they do not progress into the senior squad of 25.

The difference in the Premier and Championship is huge, many aren't good enough to step up, even if they do well in the Championship.
As you say, many don't but my point is that our two loans have more than earned their place in their respective loan clubs. indeed, I have a friend who watches Derby regularly and he reckons Ozoh is very good and well regarded by other fans. Furthermore, he had an OK spell with us under Roy with a couple of strong performances. That's over two years ago now as aa 18 yo. There's a good chance he can be a squad player for us as a DM, a position we're likely to be short in next season. I've followed Imray's progress ever since his 1st game in an Academy match in which he was the best player on the pitch. A long-term injury resulting from a nasty tackle by an opponent set him back a good 18 months but since he's been out on loan he's been more than capable and shone at each level, League 2, League 1 and now the Championship with Baggies. I have high hopes for him with us next season if he;s given the chance.
