D-Day May 7th Local Elections

They will choose Raynor, I don't like her politics but if you are Labour voter she is the one with personality. Unless there is yet another scandal she will get Labour voters turning out.
I don't have the faith in her electoral draw that you do. Too female too shrill too northern.

Someone like Al Carns will be a better bet and will tick the boxes for a much wider demographic.

Never happen. Labour will do as it always does and blow both feet off.

A mound of boiling class resentment.
I do not like the 'Cut of her jib'.
Her Left-Wing views are totally antithetical to mine.
She would probably label me "Tory scum" and my response would not be for the faint-hearted !

Let's be honest it wouldn't matter who they put up they would not get your vote.

I cannot recall any Labour activist calling on me, at my current abode or in previous locations.
I appreciate the posters and boards would have deterred them !
If however by some highly unlikely chance I was approached on my doorstep by a Labour supporter, I would not be antagonistic or obnoxious but would be polite and respectful, informing them they could not count on my support.

It is far too far to walk up the Willo driveway.

That is usually how I treat Mormons and JW. Work hard to impose my atheism but never rude.

If Rayner becomes PM, she whose son is an Only Fans p*** monetiser, would the country be more of a laughing stock on the world stage than it is now?
I would suggest we have reached rock bottom in the eyes of other nations

In the khaki election of 1945 the people decided to vote Labour in order to implement the Beveridge Report.
They basically wanted big changes having gone through two world wars and a long economic depression.

I usually say that I would rather be represented by a rose bush in my garden as it would do less harm.

People have long memories. The end of WW1 we were supposed to have a land fit for heroes. Instead the establishment just went back to the pre-war class system and betrayed the men and families who did the bleeding and the dying.

It was pretty obvious that the 1945 election was payback by the public and a hope that Labour could actually deliver.

Apropos local elections I have already stated that in Leicestershire the Reform vote decreased by 9.3% whilst the Conservative vote increased by 5.1%

In Northumberland, the Conservatives recorded a GAIN from Reform. The Reform vote decreased by 13.3% whilst the Conservative vote increased by 9.0%.

.....and deliver it they did Aneurin Bevan was the Housing Minster and the Health Minister, against a very hostile coalition of the B.M.A. and the Tory Party he founded the N.H.S. in the fifties he and a very young M.P. called Harold Wilson resigned over the introduction of point of use charges for glasses and dentistry. The Labour Government did as asked and delivered on their manifesto to enact the seven points of the Beveridge reforms ensuring a land fit for heroes. Labour has a proud history of delivering on manifesto commitments.

The Tories had practically identical health care proposals in their manifesto.

Among other manifesto commitments, was not growing the Economy one of their central pledges??
