Fair enough, although I think anyone who has challenged for a header might appreciate the need to locate your opponent in the process, fractionally before the ball arrives (I'm not suggesting you haven't ever challenged for a header, by the way!).
How about this then: You are on the ball in central midfield, entering the final third. I am up front, on the edge of the box. You want to play it into my feet so I can hold on to it and set it back for you to shoot. To do that I have to 'pin' the defender that is marking me. I.e get my back, or furthest arm, into his chest. I must compete physically for the same space he wants to occupy, in advance of the ball arriving.
