Glasner Out

You’re a Lairy keunt , when someone doesn’t share opinion, aye mate.
Seen him loads. Watched him live in all the European games home and away, haven’t seen him change many games with 1 simple pass, where’s his assists ?
Elliot Anderson is miles in front of him regarding England, what do you think he’s worth, £180m?
Other people can rate him how they want.
To me , compared to Olise, Eze and Guehi he’s miles off it.
Don’t mind him as a player, but I’m not on the ‘Wharton hype train’ , if one of the big clubs are, that’s great.
Agreed, I doubt Adam’s even going to make the final squad, good player but doesn’t do enough to change games for me, plus I was going to say he doesn’t score enough goals, but he doesn’t score ANY goals

If we revisit it and we’ve got £100m for Wharton , then I’d think we’ve been overpaid, but happy, so don’t really see what your point would be?

We'll see then wont we. Lets revisit
this page if Wharton is sold THIS summer. With 3 years left on his contract. It'll be £100m. Minimum. If Parish holds out and Wharton doesn't ask to move which I believe will happen.
In terms of how you rate him thats your opinion but comparing him to Anderson is naive. They are different player regardless of them occupying the same position. You criticize me because I dont agree with you but use foul language wrapped up in bad spelling to try and insult me yet you seem to think you are in some way more relevant? 🤣 Learn some vocabulary or switch to Millwall 😆

Agree with the comment he's a different player to Anderson. Comparing them is futile. Anderson gets around the pitch better and contributes far more defensively. But Wharton has vision and a range of passing Anderson can only dream of. In a funny way, they'd make a dream pairing.

Did you not see Anderson’s sublime pass for Hudson-odoi to equalise at Selhurst earlier this season?

Well if we win this cup his 2 years at Palace will have made him £8m in wages and a walk in to a well paid job back on the continent. He will also go down in history as the most successful manager in history.
Where’s the ‘Glasner in’ thread gone?

Hopefully he fails miserably at his next job and returns the following season.

It's all a shame how it's unfolded. Last night showed that he can still get us playing well and he is clearly an excellent cup manager. We're also on a relatively good run of form now with just one defeat in eight.

Under different circumstances we could be looking forward to maybe winning this competition and playing in the Europa under him next year but I suspect the bridges have been burnt now and he is just using this as a means to landing a bigger job.

Still, if we land the FA Cup, Community Shield and Conference League in the space of a year then I imagine most of us would take that return for the histrionics in the middle.

I think a lot of people on here and in particular the HF with that banner, pressed the alarm button waaaay too soon.
I'm very thankful our owners were able to sort a compromise to see the club finish the season, with some optimism

I don't think anyone pressed the alarm button.. There was always a good chance that once 'his' players were back, the fixture list eased we would come out the other end. And we all know memories are only as long as the bad results. We look to have stopped the rot, so everybody seems rosy with OG again.

I still have a problem with how he conducted himself over the winter; the disrespect he showed the club, it's fans and it's players (especially the youth) together with his desire to prove a point rather than win matches was disgraceful and I will still be glad to see him gone in the summer. It's just such a shame.

What it did show is the ability of SP to choose the right option (for the club) and put faith in the odious self serving little toddler, and decide he was most likely the best option 'til the end of the season despite all of this. It would have been very easy for him to give in to the pressure to sack OG and find a replacement, at what was a crucial time for the club.

History suggests that he would have a fall out with the ownership at some point.

However, I think the squad, since the end of the January window, is the strongest it’s been since the end of last season. In depth if not in quality.

Would that fall out have occurred had the summer window had been better managed ?

We’ll never know of course….

We’ll never know a lot of things, also why we could spend £85 million on two players in January and not spent that sort of dosh last summer. Obviously in SP we trust and we assume it was a PSR cash flow thing or a textor issue, but as fans we never know for sure

It'S a valid question but I seriously wonder that even if the readies had been found under the mattress last summer whether he would have signed an extension. His past indicates a firm "nein"

I make you right, I have my doubts as well, after winning the cup his stock would’ve been high as the pundits like to phrase it and he would’ve been thinking bigger and better than us all of a sudden. Possibly Parish knew last summer that Ollie was off sooner rather than later and didn’t want to break the bank for a manager who was already thinking about his next job

Everything about OG's past suggested this would happen...

Play a 3-4-3 that gets average players to over perform
Be dangerous in the cups because of a good defensive record
Be too outspoken - an attribute that never ends well for managers
Complain about not being backed (not sure what he wanted to happen that didn't)
Leave under a bit of a cloud because despite success, he didnt get what he wanted form the club

With regard to the penultimate paragraph he was quite explicit what he wanted in terms of backing.
He gave three interviews on the subject and essentially said he wanted players brought in early in the windows to allow for proper assimilation in the squad and understanding of their teammates and Glasner's methods.
He also said he felt 'abandoned ' by the board because they had failed to deliver on their promises.

As far as I'm aware the club have not any comment on his allegations.

Furthermore, Glasner has also made contradictory statements at times suggesting he was content with the squad.

In other words he's a typical manager whose utterances are often determined after the latest result and the emotions associated with that result.

Much of this is water under the bridge now.
It does mean that there are lots of question marks over the summer though in terms of a new manager and incoming and outgoing players.
