When I watch politics on TV all I see is a bunch of mealy mouthed bespectacled lefties trying to squirm and spin their way around every topic. They avoid the bigger picture at all costs because it doesn't look good for the idealistic delusions, or their chances at the next election.

When I read your posts, I think of some character who looks like Penfold desperately trying to invent new ways to avoid reality.

Sure the Americans screwed up in Iraq and Libya in terms of a complete solution, but I don't think that was ever the plan. It was about retribution. A lesson in f*** around and find out.

The politics of the Middle East might well be complex as is our occasional exploitation of it. I'm not interested in that particularly. What concerns me is destroying the roots of an idea. They say you can't destroy an idea, but you can certainly remove those who spread it.
This isn't about politics for me. This is in a broad sense a holy war. The difference being in this case that neither side can really claim much adherence to their religions. Trump wants pay back for years of Iranian hostility towards the West and specifically the US. There was never any doubt in my mind that this day was coming.

That's silly. Islam is a religion followed by numbers not much lower than that of Christianity.
However, Islamism is driven by relatively few. Taking out the main drivers is a difficult but worthwhile endeavour.
As usual you are just taking codswallop. I don't despise Christianity. I see it for what it is. Bombing people for the sake of it is not anyone's aim. You do like a bit of hyperbole don't you
