In absolute fairness we are still waiting on the "weapons of mass destruction" from the Iraq war. I have an open mind about it all.

England
Wow. That's an image I could do without.Yup, you've got it.
Trump has a blind spot over Israel who have anally "taken" him.
Good for them. But I worry about the consequence for us.
England
If they had them, they would have used them by now. But their attacks have been pathetic.I am not sure that they need to have assembled a complete bomb; they just need to have reached a point where the uranium is enriched to a level where dirty bombs could be achieved by conventional means. Something I assume the US and Israel authorities believe. Iran does have ballistic missiles that would easily reach adversaries.
England
I'm not even sure Trump has a clearly enunciated goal. If he has, he certainly hasn't revealed it. The Americans can bomb Iran to kingdom come but what emerges from the ashes? Regime change? Change to what? Another despotic puppet regime in the mould of the Pahlavi dynasty? Who would lead the country? Any successful revolution has its figurehead but I'm buggered if I know who'd take over. Or is this just another ill-thought out American adventure that leaves chaos in its wake, like Afghanistan, Libya and Iraq?Trump has to topple this regime now......Every other option is worse for him, because if he leaves them in place a nuclear bomb is a certainly. The sense that Iran have been wronged by many of America's enemies means that it would happen.
Personally I'm hoping that Trump can convince the Kurds, with US airpower, to fight the regime and take over the country.....but I don't know if they have the strength.....US troops on the ground....probably to some supporting capacity.
It's a sh1t show.
That said, do the US have the munitions enough to support them long enough to overthrow them.....they gave a lot of stuff to both Ukraine and Israel.

And I'm sure many Labourites are acutely aware of that.In absolute fairness we are still waiting on the "weapons of mass destruction" from the Iraq war. I have an open mind about it all.

Ha, actually that is a rumour doing the conspiracy rounds e.g. relating to Epstein.Wow. That's an image I could do without.
You think Mossad have dirty picture of the Pres'?
England
His only goal as I view it is support Israel come what may.I'm not even sure Trump has a clearly enunciated goal. If he has, he certainly hasn't revealed it. There are very good reasons why previous presidents did not do it.And I'm sure many Labourites are acutely aware of that.
The problem is...What if we did nothing and Iran really did make a nuclear missile?
America was always going to take Iran out sooner or later. It is just another square in the game of global chess. I predicted this decades ago. It wasn't difficult. The Presidents change, but the objective doesn't.
England
So his missus shuts her legs if Trumpy doesn't get his big missile out? It's a theory.Ha, actually that is a rumour doing the conspiracy rounds e.g. relating to Epstein.
I suspect his wife and children are Jewish so his non-interventionism applies with all foreign conflicts save Israel. And Likud are aware of this and are exploiting this peccadillo.
England
They are currently targeting the Kurdish region.Trump has to topple this regime now......Every other option is worse for him, because if he leaves them in place a nuclear bomb is a certainly. The sense that Iran have been wronged by many of America's enemies means that it would happen.

That's one way to see it. The alternative interpretation is that Iran had reached a point in their development of nukes where the military told Trump that this was a great time to act. And it would do his domestic popularity no harm either. There are very good reasons why previous presidents did not do it.
They listened to their advisers.
This one does not; and evidently did not.
I suspect the penny is finally dropping as to how bad and dangerous this president really is.
England
With all the MAGA swivel-heads, doubtless, but I think that overall domestic support for this adventure isn't as solid as he seems to think. That's one way to see it. Decisions aren't usually made with only one consideration.
England
It's pretty even I think. With all the MAGA swivel-heads, doubtless, but I think that overall domestic support for this adventure isn't as solid as he thinks.
England
Oh yeah, their government are c***s. We are ad item on that. And our military have been rehearsing a war with Iran for decades. But that does not support the risks this current ill thought out campaign exposes all of us to.So his missus shuts her legs if Trumpy doesn't get his big missile out? It's a theory.
Being cynical for a second, I think that most war for capitalists is ultimately about money and resources.
If your enemy gives you a reason, even if you have to exaggerate it a bit (Iraq) you can expand your influence and deal with a rogue state in one go.
Iran has pressed Americas buttons on several occasions in the past. The humiliation of captured Americans being the most obvious example. Encouraging chants of death to America didn't exactly help.
They had it coming.
Ireland
I have no idea but are they likely striking the parts of the Kurdish region that have been taken over by Islamic State? It's not impossible they're striking the Kurds. Just wondering. They are currently targeting the Kurdish region.
One despairs.
England
Well I'd imagine that that ship was armed to the teeth and looking to attack somebody. This is a war. Duh!Oh yeah, their government are c***s. We are ad item on that. And our military have been rehearsing a war with Iran for decades. But that does not support the risks this current ill thought out campaign exposes all of us to.
Thus, why did they torpedo that ship? Their Joint Chief said how brilliant it was etc. but did not say what specific risk that ship presented. They killed all those sailors as a show of force and solidarity with Israel but with no other strategic purpose.
How does that further the interests of the rest of us?
England
I would be surprised. MAGA types have echoes on here; and you will see how folk on this beloved site defend the indefensible just because they like him (and anyone who says any word against him is a "lefty"). No different there. With all the MAGA swivel-heads, doubtless, but I think that overall domestic support for this adventure isn't as solid as he seems to think.
England
You haven't made a single reasonable argument on this subject and yet you call others thick. You resort to stereotypes in one sentence and then talk about being called a 'lefty' in another.I would be surprised. MAGA types have echoes on here; and you will see how folk on this beloved site defend the indefensible just because they like him (and anyone who says any word against him is a "lefty"). No different there.
Also, MAGA types are so thick they could set. He can literally say anything and they believe him. He can completely change his position 180 degrees from day to day and their view will adhere to that change in a manner uncomfortably reminiscent of 1984.
However, for the % of his supporters who can spell their own name and tie their own shoe laces, one reason he was voted in was on a mandate of foreign non-intervention. This is hardly that. I can see that element of his support trickling away.
