Parish Out

Parish won't be going anywhere. For him, the club is personal. And I think as an investor he wants long-term financial stability for the club. The club encounters a few problems along the way (missing emails, quitting managers, etc), but football is a complicated industry, unlike any other business.
No doubt Mr Parish has had the occasional error of judgement, but I think on the whole, he's the right person for the job.

Look at Spurs when Daniel Levy jumped ship. 😀 when Mr Parish goes, that's when the Palace fans should worry.

According to the Daily Mirror Big Sam (Allardyce) has said thayhe thinks Glasner is trying to get sacked by his outbursts, Personally I think it is very similar to Tourettes Syndrome.
 
Have been chatting with some other fans about how the Oliver Glasner situation and how club is being run at the top. Namely Steve Parish as the chairman. He is paid very handsomely for this role.

I am beginning to understand more about Glasner's frustrations at trying to run the team and getting the best out of the squad this season.

I think we can all agree that he was not backed in the summer and the argument that the club had no money or had to comply with financial regulation was shattered with the January transfer splurge.

How many of the signings in the last two years have been a success? How effective is new sporting director Matt Hobbs at acquiring talent for good deals? Brennan Johnson (from Tottenham) and Jorgen Strand Larsen (from Wolves) for a combined total: £83m. Remember the way they treated Dwight McNeil and his transfer that was withdrawn at the last second...

I believe that on occasions the team missed their flights back to London due to incompetency by the club. This had a knock-on effect on the following day's team planning and training for the next league fixtures.

On the eve of travelling to Sunderland, after a week of tactical planning with star player and captain Marc Guehi and the team, he was removed from the squad.

The club doctor was allowed to leave earlier in the season and also the head analyst both to rival Premier League clubs. Isn't your best talent supposed to be kept and tied on long deals? And maybe not left to depart in the middle of a season?

There are many other stories... Time after time the board has not been supportive of the manager at best and downright incompetent at worst. I believe the chairman's responsibility is giving the manager the tools he needs in order to maximise his talents.

It's common knowledge that club staff, right down to the stewards are paid badly and treated shoddily. I thought this culture had changed at the club.

Planning approval for the Main Stand was granted in April 2018 and nobody knows when the stand will be built and ready.

The second phase of the Academy build was scheduled for Spring 2023 and it's still not complete. Still no first-team ready players have been produced.

It appears the club is a shambles from top to bottom. From Steve Parish not wanting a FA Cup trophy parade (the council was to blame) and one being organised last minute and the club messing up FA Cup winning merchandise.

Right to the club not addressing the UEFA compliance issue over multi-club ownership and missed the March 1 deadline. The email address was to blame!

I await the Parish fanboys "he saved the club, blah de blah" coming out in force. But the above is all public knowledge and I am slightly concerned with the downward direction of the club. The buck stops at the top and there needs to be some accountability.

The problem is Glasner has shown this season he is an inflexible, arrogant, selfish man and a very poor manager

This all smacks of a personality clash between Glasner and Parish,as soon as his departure became public the Palace wallet came out in force almost an "up yours" gesture.
 
A lot of what you write does have merit and resonates with me somewhat BUT that is who we are and have been for the five decades plus I’ve followed this club.

We would have to change everything about the club to eradicate those types of mistakes.

The outpouring of tears and love last May can’t be bought or manufactured. It comes from the heart unconditionally.

I agree the evidence you put forward is compelling but these past few months have been some of the darkest moments and I don’t blame Parish for that feeling.

Last time I checked Glasner was not in charge of staff retention and employment, compliance issues or construction projects at the football club.
 
It's interesting that after a considered post about a hugely varied number of alleged mistakes made by Parish/the board over the last year or two, the first two replies immediately start talking about Glasner.

It's a very shallow analysis to ignore all of the evidence that we are completely out of our depth at board level, and fixate on the perceived tactical or personal limitations of the manager.
 
This is the trouble... Palace fans have endured mediocrity since forever, are used to it and are pretty unfazed when it continues. Many will be delighted to just be listed in the Premier League. I'm not one of those. I expect high standards and good decision making from board members at what is now one of the biggest football clubs in the world.

You are unlikely to get that if you remain a Crystal Palace fan.
