Glasner Out

The whole crowd? I sit in the Glazier end of the Main stand and whilst some were joining in the singing, most were ether smiling or carried on watching what purported to be a PL football game.
I agree it wasn't the whole crowd. But I didn't hear or see anyone grumbling about it. More like giggling at it, and as you say smiling. But from my perspective i would guess maybe 10% were sort of singing.

By the way, is the Glazier end of the Main Stand the White Horse end? I never heard it called that, and i haven't been in it for at least 20 years.

No, it’s the Sainsburys two for one end. You get two tickets for the price of one every time Glasner slags off Palace. Currently sold out until 2026/2027 season.

I laughed quite loudly at our set pieces. I couldn't help it.

The long throws were really gettig on my tits , did anyone else catch it on sky , some guy in the crowd shouted out to Mitchell whe he saw Richards trotting over " just throw the f***ing ball " cracked me up .

Most of us want him gone. Most of us also are aware he also wants himself gone, along with a nice payout. Parish simply isn't going to give him that. He's playing a blinder. OG has to earn his money.
He probably has a keeping us up bonus in his contract as did Roy and Sam and Pulis , it was a couple of Million if memory serves me right but i would imagine if he leaves he would lose that along wit loyalty bonuses and if sacked he probably keeps it of 50 percent of it . Contracts are very complicated these days , if i didnt do my job or got sacked i would get f*** all of a payout , id be lucky to get my week in hand .

Long throws should never of left Stoke City
They've had their time all teams have worked them out .
Chuck in a surprise one every now and then but systematically ... nah

Agreed. I've come to accept that he's probably staying till the end of the season. I'll get behind the team as I did on Sunday and won't be one of those booing Glasner or demanding his removal. In my book it's no point carrying on with that type of reaction. He's still our manager and we should at least cut out the anti Glasner chants etc. He'll be gone soon enough and we can at least be thankful for the first 18-20 months of his tenure which gave us unrivalled success and (in football terms) unrivalled joy.
I am still glad that he came to us, because overall his time with us was pretty good. He should just refrain from his sarcastic comments and schoolings now. Rereading my words I realise that I actually have a similar attitude towards him as I do towards my wife.

Yes. I call it that because it's the section that has the Glaziers' bar.

So the wife’s away for the night, I know what I can do!!
A couple of cheeky mid week beers, and dirty greasy burger and watch the cup final again.

I honestly think as a club, SP needs to sit the entire playing squad down and show them the video again. The spirit and joy shown by all the players and fans should be a reminder to everyone what can be achieved by working together and what a great club we are.
They also need to remember how privileged they are and should be grateful for the support that we give them.

After reading the first line, I thought you were going to announce that it was an opportunity for a five knuckle shuffle 🤌🤣

It can't be helping the players having every single press conference revolve around his future, him slagging everyone off and our terrible form.

We need someone sitting there who wants to be there and is full of optimism and ideas.

Although it cant be easy being in front of the press with every question loaded just hoping for a sensationalist "sound bite" that they can use as a headline - one guy must have asked the same question in 5 or 6 different ways, just juggling the words around hoping for some quote about winning the conference competition when here we are, havent played particularly well in any of the European games facing a knock out game that could well end our European adventure & a journalist going on about winning the thing at every possible breath, just so he got his headline & then maybe another headline tomorrow if it all goes tits up.

It’s noteworthy that Glasner identified two problems with the team’s performances- a vulnerability on transitions and a failure to get in behind teams.
That’s been pretty evident to many on here ( together with a failure to defend set pieces).

Personally I’m dubious that we will see a great deal of improvement in the areas that Glasner identified.

Transitions are more difficult for us in the absence of the accomplished Guehi who had the pace and ability to read the game and often snuff out teams breaking on us.
Lacroix and Richards look less secure and Canvot and Riad don’t look ready to be regular starters.
When teams break on us our midfielders flounder making last ditch attempts to recover and frequently failing.

In terms of getting in behind teams we have been almost totally reliant on Munoz who was so key to our cup success last season with his rampaging down the right.
A typical move would entail a long ball up to Mateta who would hold up the ball and wait for Sarr and Munoz to join him and we’d develop a 2 on 1 situation against the opposition full back.
A few times a game Munoz would also be on the end of raking 50 yard crossfield passes from Guehi who was very adept at finding him in space.
Munoz is no longer making those explosive runs.
I can’t remember the last time he made one of those 30 yard sprints to close down an opponent.
This could be due to his injury or that we’re having to defend more.

We’re not stretching teams and offer little threat from wide areas.
Pino offers little in the way of threat down our left and , even though Mitchell is a candidate for our player of the season, nobody can really say he offers a sustained threat down our left in terms of crossing and delivery.
His inclination is more to knock it backwards or inside.
We have to hope that Munoz and Sarr again become the threat down the right that they were a few months ago and that Guessand and Johnson demonstrate an ability to get in behind teams .
