Next Manager?

Southgate doesnt have enough clubs on his CV. And he is the master of disaster at penalties....both as a player and a manager. Added to the allegations of being Woke. No thanks.
In what way is he ‘woke’? Why is it an ‘allegation’?

Pep and Klopp are both definitely woke. Not sure their clubs minded as they have and did win things. Within reason the only criteria for our manager should be whether they can help us win.

Southgate’s record looks better than it is because a lot of the opposition were from teams made up of butchers, bakers and candle stick makers. Certainly don’t want him as our next manager
Exactly.

The one thing he has done is be able to beat teams he's expected to beat easily, which traditionally England has struggled with. (but even that has shaked over his latter years). The first opposition who we've played who has showed any talent or desire we've lost to. This is because his Plan A was often very good - good enough to beat most. but the Teams who work out this plan A and change to deal with it, he has no answers.

I am proud that Southgate has an undeniable association to Palace. He is a thoroughly decent man and conducts himself impeccably - he’d be a credit to our club in any capacity other than as manager.

During his tenure as England manager, I have never been so frustrated watching England. Yes we went deep into the Euros and world cups - but with the luck of the draws looking very favourably on us! and when we came up against anyone decent he got found out.
I don’t want a manager who wants his team to have pointless possession of the ball, or to go out every game “not to get beat”.

I like our new mindset - we go into every game thinking “how do we win” the next manager must think like this if the players and fans are to buy into it and believe we can be more than people outside the club expect.

Strangely, Skybet has the current Portugal manager as favourite to succeed Olly.
Various others listed with diminishing interest right up to Mary Poppins at 100 to 1.

Of the, in my humble opinion, interesting ones nearer the top of the market, McKenna, Rodgers and Sir Gareth might fit the bill.

Steve Parish has shown a penchant for Palace nostalgia over the years, so I would expect to see Southgate named in the summer.

Wouldn't be a bad punt for me. (Currently 7 to 1 Skybet and 10-1 Bet Victor).
Totally agree re Southgate for the reasons you mentioned plus we’ve got form in appointing ex England Managers

Plan A. Works well. No plan B. No answers when teams work him out. Reminds me of somebody, if only I could think who …

Bet365 now have Roger Schmidt at 2 to 1 Fav
SkyBet has Jose Bordalas at 3 to 1 Fav, the same with Paddy Power
Bet Victor has Southgate, Bordalas and Frank at 6 to 1

Southgate would be a shocking appointment, in my view, and I don't want to see our team news revealed via LinkedIn.

He did well with England and his best trait for unifying the squad, whereas in the 2000s seemingly players from rival teams didn't get on.

However, he is tactically limited and I do not think would thrive in the Premier League now. England's squad was regularly top 4/5 in the world for quality under him, we are not in that position.

We need somebody with far greater tactical acumen, younger, a bit more dynamic and who can work with the odd composition of our squad. And I'm definitely not talking about Lampard.

However you define woke I'll support any manager that will man-manage our very positively diverse squad through these difficult times, by treating everyone with the same respect you'd expect at work and in society, utilising their high IQ and EQ to communicate their vision, drive a winning mentality and achieve the results we all want to see.

Let's have it right peeps, Southgate is a f***ing hopeless manager who says all the right things then does all the wrong things so no to this berk as our next man in the hot seat thank you very glad.

yes yes whatever mate - does your missus know you like to occupy the moral high ground ? .

Southgate : The main diversity problem i have is the lack of many Club's managed successfully on his CV.

As far as England managers goes, Big Sam Allardyce, Bobby Robson, or Sven Goran Ericsson (RiP) would have been much better at Selhurst than Southgate.

Doesn't take much for you to resort to the barbs does it? Typifies what's wrong with some of our so called supporters - i.e. quick to slag off their own rather than stand together.

As for Sam "on the take" Allardyce with his 100% win record managing his one England match? Do me a favour.
We need to be thinking this century not last.

Are you a Palace fan? Big Sam saved us from relegation, turned the team around, signed Jeffrey Schlupp, PVA and Luka Milivojevic and finished off the work spanking the Arse 3-0 and beating Liverpool 2-1 at Anfield. He is credited with being the most forward thinking English manager with his use of technology. Sam was cleared of all allegations against him by both the Police and FA in relation to the entrapments by the BBC and Daily Telegraph. No charges were ever brought. Most fans regretted his decision to leave and blamed Parish for lack of investment. If you weren’t around when Sam was manager please do some proper research before making remarks such as these.

When Allardyce was appointed we were 17th after 17 games and only 1 point clear of the relegation zone.
We finished the season in 14th place, 7 points clear of Hull in 18th place.
