We could ask Vinnie Jones well,at a squeeze. The more I read about Javier Bordalas, the more I like the idea of having a bit of a footballing villain in the dugout.

Did the Selhurst tour at the weekend and it was reckoned there is no chance of Southgate (from the Horse's mouth allegedly) so that's one thingThe more I read about Javier Bordalas, the more I like the idea of having a bit of a footballing villain in the dugout.
That is not where it would stop as he has quite a penchant for the derriere. 😉Did the Selhurst tour at the weekend and it was reckoned there is no chance of Southgate (from the Horse's mouth allegedly) so that's one thing
But on the villain theme - Peter Mandleson - well connected, no compensation needed with his "lifestyle preferences" - would put bums on seats.
In the training video put out today I'm sure I heard an Aussie accent during the shooting practice towards the end with Guessand and Strand-Larsen 👀😬I have not read the thread.
Mate of mine on Perth messaged to say that there seems to be a lot of talk about Ange and Palace over there.
I hope not

An appointment of a Labour Icon would probably appeal to the one or two Labour Supporters on this site!!Did the Selhurst tour at the weekend and it was reckoned there is no chance of Southgate (from the Horse's mouth allegedly) so that's one thing

That might be a disaster, but the romantic in me would love it. I used to sing Jedinak's song to my daughter when she was a tot. I still sing it in the car sometimes. What a man. What a beard. Its the Popovic, Jedinak combo i mentioned, they are manager and assistant manager of Australia for the World cup. contracts expire at the end

I do understand people's reservations about Gareth. The latest odds have Southgate at the top. What do folk think of this?
I know many people like him (all the usual ‘ex player rubbish’) but in my opinion this would be a dreadful appointment that will only lead to the slow painful and dull death of our premier league membership, a fall in gate receipts (because people aren’t going to turn up to watch a team relegated playing boring football) and serve to articulate our lack of ambition. The new stand probably won’t be built (as Parish will say we can’t afford it) and we’ll be back where we were 20 years ago. To me, a managerial appointment is that important and I think we sometimes don’t consider the wider impact a good or poor manager can have. It feels to me as though Parish took his eye of the ball with OG and perhaps should have backed him more in the summer. (And we don’t know the conversations). I think we have to learn from this and not appoint the most boring football manager in the universe.

That's typical of the underestimation that I mentioned.Southgate’s record looks better than it is because a lot of the opposition were from teams made up of butchers, bakers and candle stick makers. Certainly don’t want him as our next manager

I'm going to need one as well - Eddie Howe !Why are we spending big on a manager who’s already on the way out? It doesn’t really add up. You’d think there must be someone lined up whose system fits the players we’re bringing in. If it were Southgate, for example, I imagine we’d have prioritised strengthening at centre-back. So maybe the club is looking at someone with a close working relationship with Matt Hobbs during his rapid rise to sporting director. Here’s a slightly left-field shout: Julen Lopetegui, apparently he and Hobbs worked well together.
That’s the best speculation I can come up with and my tin hat is ready!!

True. Coventry was scary in the early 1980's. Today it makes Thornton Heath look posh.Coventry was much better when they made Ghost Town. That's the scary part.
Struth-Larsen... After he blazed one over the barOr was it just someone shouting, "Ah, look, mate"?
