I think the plan from the club was always for Riad to be Guehi's replacement. Unfortunately the Injury he suffered wrecked the plans to an extent.

I saw Lacroix as Andersons's ready made replacement & Riad as Guehi's replacement, giving 1 year to settle and grow and allowing us to sell Guehi last summer.

Although looking at OG use of subs I'm not sure that would of worked even if Riad didn't get injured.
 
I would say it's unbelievable that we're trying to do necessary business on deadline day, but that is how Parish seems to like to do things. Perhaps his transfer strategy is inspired by classic daytime TV?

Parish has supported Palace since around 1977 he wants us to do well as much as any of us fans. Only he also holds the poison chalice job of chairman which he gets well paid for but has grown the club and made it successful. We punch above our weight and appear in the top25 European list for commercial income in 2024/25 at over £200m, from a club only 16 years previously was close to going out of business. Anyone who thinks Parish should go needs to have a serious word with themselves. I would prefer them to stop being a fan rather than Parish leave.

Various reports appearing that the JPM move could be off for differing reasons one of which being his knee. In Milan's position wouldn't it make sense to wait until he's had whatever treatment he needs on our dime and come back for him in the summer if they haven't found any alternative?

If the BBC is to be believed then we are in for a lot of players today!
As for business on the final day - it has ever been thus for a lot of clubs - one deal frees up another one and so on and lots of clubs are not happy unless they know what is going on.
I don't see it as SP's fault at all.

Did he fail the mafia test? what happens now as Larsen has passed his medical? maybe we could sell JP to Wolves? That should help his France aspirations😆
