Mateta

They'll report back his knee is knackered. Pull out. Then come back in for him in the summer (when they originally wanted him) with a much lower fee knowing no one else will be interested. Quite clever really.

Maybe we'll do the same with JSL.
Reports suggesting they want the medical to look more closely at his knee issue and perhaps restructure the deal. I can see it falling through.

Read an article in today’s sun, Glasner saying that Palace fans should respect what JPM has done for the club, even though he wants to leave.
Sounds like he’s talking about how he wants to be remembered , not Mateta.

You can have fond memories of someone and still think that they finished there time with us as a c*nt.

Which applies to Mateta and Glasner.
Maybe a banner with:

Thanks Oli and JP, now f@&” off you treacherous bar stewards.

Regardless, let Mateta go. Take the money and find a suitable replacement in the summer. Why pay an inflated £50M for Larson when we don't know who is our next manager.
We can’t go to the end of the season with Sarr up front. JSL, or a suitable alternative, is the crucial piece we are missing.

We have a shedload of creative talent but that’s no good to anyone if you haven’t got anyone to convert it. In some ways it’s ideal that Mateta has decided to scoot off, but it won’t be if we don’t replace him.

The latest news seems to suggest that Milan are not 100% on the Mateta deal.
It may be a negotiating ploy to get an initial loan with an option to purchase in the summer.
Not necessarily good for Palace and puts the pressure back on the club whether to conclude the Larsen deal in the light of the Mateta uncertainty.

Well certainly to JP, unfortunately. Reading Henderson’s pre match and post match messages it would seem JO may have become a disruptive influence in the dressing room

Is this why we keep reading things like this:

"The striker's move to South London is not thought to be impacted by the uncertainty surrounding Jean-Philippe Mateta and his transfer to AC Milan."

What a sad end to a great couple of seasons for him

I’m surprised it’s not linked? Might mean we have JPM (or Larsen) on the bench until the end of the season? Hopefully that helps our ailing team better and Glasner more likely to make substitutions than he does now?

And now we know why Mateta wanted a move and why we were happy to wave him off.
