Pino, played on the left at Villarreal and was bought in to replace Eze who was a right footed player playing on the left and drifting inside.

Pino is also right footed, so not sure what your point is.

There is clearly some logic to his signing and his 'fit' into the formation we play. Clearly he hasn't got Eze's individual flair (who has?) and has been underwhelming of late and probably needs a rest/be dropped for a few games.

I dont think he's been electric, but I do think he's been let down with others around him.

Take the Sunderland game, scored a very good goal, and should have had a assist (won the ball back high, and put JP through). A goal and assist might have got us the win and a MoTM performance.

Thats not the only time he's been let down by JP's finishing.

Pino is a right winger. 75% of his games have been as a right winger. In the season before he joined us he played 24 games on the right and 6 on the left, so while he has played on the left, that has not been his main position. Plus he's being played as more of an inside forward than a winger with us, so he's having to learn a new role. Eventually it might work out, but why didn't the club look to sign someone who was already playing a similar role to Eze? Maybe the scouting team genuinely thought Pino was the ideal fit, or maybe Palace got excited at the chance to sign a Spanish international at a decent price and left it to OG to try and shoehorn him in.

Personally think Uche would fit the Eze role..that's where he's played in previous club. Strong and has good feet. Goal in the Conference was top quality and if Ebs had scored that......

Ok, we have Sarr, Pino, Johnson, Kamada, Esse, JRS and Uche. Who the hell plays where although I accept that Kamada may be more midfield and Esse and JRS are currently on loan and Uche will probably disappear into the midsts of time.

Trouble is pino learning in Spain he is technically better in his thought process.
Many times his passes are first time and our front can’t read it quickly enough. The last home game or one before at least twice pino passed where a striker or another player should have been.
Wright and bright made this an art. Ball to bright, wright was there for the knock on or through ball and visa versa. This is training ground stuff. Although JPM might have missed anyway but that’s not the point tbh.
