The bbc, again.

So it was edited.
If it was an accident it doesn't speak to the efficiency of BBC Verify.
The two clips can be described as “edits”. They were just slivers of a very long speech, selected to make a point about the kind of rhetoric that inspired people to riot.

BBC Verify don’t check everything. How could they? They look at significant current issues in the public eye.

Yet again. Making points about the kind of rhetoric used by creating a false narrative. Keep spinning as much as you like but the clips selected showed him saying something different to that which was actually said.

From the BBC

BBC Verify is a specialist team of journalists using open-source intelligence (OSINT), satellite imagery, data analysis and forensic techniques. They fact-check information, verify video, counter disinformation, and analyse data to separate fact from fake, and to bring clarity on complex issues.
Crucially, BBC Verify puts transparency at its core and “pulls back the curtain” to show you our workings – so you know not just what we know, but how we know it.

Yet again! This wasn’t about Trump, or his speech. The “narrative” was about what motivated the rioters. The brief clips from his speech demonstrated that, along with many others. For clarity a fade between them would have been better as it would have avoided all the whipped up furore. Something realised in hindsight and acknowledged, but not noticed by the BBC, or others, at the time. The reason for which is obvious. The two unseparated clips painted a perfectly accurate picture of Trump’s consistent attitude, both at the time and subsequently. It was a mistake but one that went unnoticed and unchallenged because it presented the truth.

Yet again, again. BBC Verify cannot check every 10 seconds of content. They obviously didn’t notice and as no one else did and brought it to their attention, there was no way they would, or could, have checked it.

Why should they check content featuring the notoriously litigious President of America? They obviously have more important things to do.

So Trump's involvement was incidental. Sure. Keep spinning.
It certainly was to the point of the programme! Which, for the umpteenth time, wasn’t about him. That it wasn’t to the way the rioters formed their opinions doesn’t change that, no matter how much Trump wants to see it that way, which given his personality is only to be expected, or you do too, which really makes no sense.

This has already gone on far too long and there are far more important and dangerous things that the monster is now doing to bother any more.

Just repeating something doesn't make it true and my attitude has nothing to do with Trump. It's to do with the BBC presenting an artificial version of events to conform to their worldview but since that is apparently unimportant that's an end to it.
