Most Clubs have insurance against injuries. That is why it is necessary to have a pre contract medical. Only the biggest/richest can afford to self insure. The policies don’t go on forever so at some stage a decision will have to be made on Doucoure. Conor Wickham was a beneficiary of the policy.I read on here the other day that Doucoure is being paid 3.94 million a year. Does that sound about right to you? It always amazes me that the club is able to pay these huge wages to players for very little in return sometimes. I guess it shows the value of having a good director of football and scouts. It probably sticks in Parishes craw to pay a manager off, it probably sticks in every Chairman's craw to do it, but at least Glasner has delivered.
Without knowing what face to face discussions have taken place its difficult to know. Glasner hasn't exactly endeared himself to us lately, but equally you can understand some of his frustration as he is a winner. As you correctly say, in the great scheme of things, half a position in compo isn't a fortune compared to what Spurs would have to pay say to sack Frank. Perhaps who we want isn't available till the summer?
I wonder if Mr Wickham will be invited to open our new rehabilitation centre in Copers Cope road. It would seem most appropriate!
