Thank you Marc

Some ‘no mark’ players have had great songs, Marc had nothing.
What a liberty that we never had a proper song for such an important player.

Thank you Marc for everything you have done at the club. When I heard the inevitable news today making your departure official, I was really pleased for you, however, I just watched your leaving video and it had me 😭. That was too emotional for a Monday.
A top guy, great centre back and a natural leader.

Thanks for leaving us for £300k a week. You are history.

Bring on the next captain.

We have a season to complete.

Just a shame neither Liverpool or Chelsea - who could both do with him - got into a bidding war. I guess they couldn't justify the salary. Still it helps the Palace pitch. "Come to Palace and become the 80 million pound contract man"

He virtually has the football world at his feet. He - understandably - has ambitions that are beyond Palaces capability to deliver. Thanks and good luck !
And yet, the team we finished with last season beat City in the Cup Final.
The League is owned by the big clubs and they don't want the likes of us boarding their gravy train.

This particular team should be in League 2 right now and yet they can still spend hundreds of millions including buying our captain.

So much for fair competition and sticking to the rules

Love Marc. Love the video. But i couldn't help but grimace a bit when he said, "We stick together through the hard times...".

Do we, Marc? Or do we bugger off to City for $300k a week?

(I acknowledge I'm being irrationally harsh, but just an interesting choice of words.)

Valid.

Big money, different rules it seems.

Correct

It's all bullshit. It's all about the money. I don't mind ambition but spare me the kissing the badge bollocks.

There is no loyalty.

Thank you captain Marvel. In a world with so many arrogant up there own arse footballers, you have remained a top human even more than being a top player. Of all the players that have left in the last few years I genuinely hope you go on to win everything you can… especially the World Cup… where we are still allowed to cheer you on.

Thank you!

I think that's very harsh. I'm sure he'd have happily stayed if we said you're not for sale. I think the move has come around as we were actively courting it to avoid losing him for free.

One of our greatest ever captains and arguably greatest cb, good luck and all the best, thank you for everything.
I have enjoyed watching Marc’s development since he came to Palace. He has become one of the best CB in world football (my opinion) his reading of the game is second to none and will go down as one of our most talented CB ever.
His leaving video was also something special.
However!
I am sorry to say I just don’t think Marc was a very good captain. I have stated before that a captain dosen’t have to scream and shout to show passion and leadership, but Marc was simply too chilled for the role. I never once saw him get into a ref, or remonstrate with his own team to fire them up. People may say that you can lead by example, and I agree Marc was the consummate professional but for me not a leader of men.

Sure but we obviously wanted the money as well. Pretty sure if we'd said we want to keep him until the summer he would have stayed and been fine.

Has not publicly agitated for a moved and more than justified his transfer fee so no complaints from me.
