The main thing is that he focuses the minds of others to 'get involved'. He is using business tactics rather than diplomacy (which in his mind probably takes too long to resolve anything). Consequently, he talked about not supporting Ukraine and so Starmer takes the bait and forms a coalition of the willing. He says that he thinks the US should turn Gaza into a beachfront holiday destination, and the Arab states end up forming a $60 billion fund to help rebuild it. Greenland is probably no different and there will be some compromise that concludes the situation; maybe joint sovereignty either with the Danes or with the Greenlanders (there is a strong independence movement in their parliament).

Much of this I agree, save the part highlighted if it suggests Trump's machinations were designed to achieve that outcome. They were not. They were designed to keep out and save American money. End of. The UK jumped in to a void created by their isolationism to lead while Europe and the US dithered and/or addressed political mixed direction.

No, it would be potentially Trump supporting the Greenland's independence movement (that kicks the Danes out), on the understanding that he has a sovereign right over the minerals (akin to the Venezualen oil situation) and the expansion of the US military base(s) already there. The Greenlanders share in the mineral wealth (Trump just needs access to and control of it), and do the day to day running of the country. Trump guarantees protection. The Greenlanders have to make the choice but Trump will encourage them. This way the Danes aren't seen to be giving in as it is the Greenlanders choice to go down this route (albeit encouraged by Trump). No shots are fired.

Greenland hate Trump and much prefer the Danes otherwise it would have been sorted out months ago. No easy fix on this!

I cannot verify this but somebody mentioned elsewhere that the important positions are held by Danes, some not even bothering to speak the local language. I would imagine that this grates a bit with the locals. Trump just needs to work on things like this.
Just my thoughts on how things could play out whilst ensuring that no shots are fired. And...I would prefer that things stay the same but if Trump is serious then there needs to be an outcome that suits most.

Let me throw this into the mix and see what people think....

Because are we being played on this Greenland stuff? Let's look at what I think are indisputable facts.

1. The Western Governing elites seem very very keen on conflict with Russia.
2. The Western Governing elites are not selling this notion very well to their populations with an almost universal rejection of any kind of conscription or even increase in military spending.
3. So, the masses need a bit of winding up.
4. Hence, we get Trump coming along and pulling this Greenland Stunt which people are quite rightly pretty peed off about because its literally bullying.
5. The Western Governing elites then push through massive increases in defence spending and even possibly conscription by way of this threat from the US.
6. When they actually are ALL involved in this play-acting and thus, when they want it, can switch back to Russia?

US President Donald Trump has said he no longer feels obliged to think only of peace after he did not receive the Nobel Peace Prize, as he again repeated his demand for control of Greenland.

In a message to Norway's prime minister, Trump blamed the country for not giving him the prize.

"Considering your Country decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize for having stopped 8 Wars PLUS, I no longer feel an obligation to think purely of Peace, although it will always be predominant, but can now think about what is good and proper' for the US", Trump said in the message obtained by US media.

"The World is not secure unless we have Complete and Total Control of Greenland," he added.
CBS News, the BBC's US partner, confirmed the message and its contents.

Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre said he had received the text message on Sunday in response to a text he and Finland's president Alexander Stubb had sent to Trump.

Støre said they had conveyed opposition to proposed tariff increases over the Greenland dispute, and pointed to the need to de-escalate, proposing a three-way phone call the same day.

Støre noted an independent committee, not the government of Norway, awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. Trump has made no secret of his desire to be awarded the annual prize.

He has increasingly insisted that the US needs to take over Greenland for national security reasons. The sparsely-populated but resource-rich Arctic island is well placed for early warning systems in the event of missile attacks and for monitoring vessels in the region.

Trump has repeated that he wants the US to buy Greenland and has not ruled out using military force against a member of the Nato security alliance to take it.
