Mateta

What’s Tammy Abraham doing now? Was pretty decent, good age, big enough, fast enough and a decent finisher. I know he was in Italy. A point to prove in England aswell.

JP will come good again once he has better service and a bit more rest between games.
We will not get a striker in that is Prem ready. It takes time to adapt and even then it doesn’t always work out.
Maybe Devenny will have to cover this position as well!

no his heart there but the supply isnt also his frustration with a niggly injury he may not be able to workout in the gym as much , see how he is with supply coming from both sides , with mitch and sarr one side and Munoz and Johnson the other
You mean Mitchell and Pino one one side and Sarr and Munoz on the other.

The absence of the latter two being (I think) the principal cause of our recent drop in form.

Glasner on Mateta: “It’s the same — there will be a price that Crystal Palace say OK. With 18 months left on his contract, we do the deal. If JP wants it and nobody pays the price, he will stay.”

If JP wants to go then go, it's not SPs thought, they think the grass is greener just look at Eze he looks happy sitting on the bench

Uncomfortable though it is our transfer policy is really not anything in which he has any influence now.

Rumours starting to come out on Twitter that Mateta will not be playing today.
Those rumours are picking up with suggestions that he’s agreed terms with Juventus, but of course there’s the little matter of Juventus agreeing a fee with the club too!
This on top with the story a week or so ago that we were trying to offload Nketiah to West Ham until his injury.
Then there’s the story of us not moving g forward in Cherif if his club won’t agree to a loan first deal, presumably similar to the Uche deal.

I hope the running of the club is not as chaotic as it sounds.
Is the absence of Freedman the problem?
It all seems a bit knee jerk and amateur hour, and at the moment its difficult to see what role Woody Johnson has, if any.

If you follow anything to do with the New York Jets in the NFL you will find words Woody Johnson and amateur hour go together.

Surely we don't sell, Eze, guihe and Mateta in the one season? 🤣

Perhaps Mateta needs surgery on his knee and would be out most of the rest of the season anyway?

Woody is an investor. Nketiah hasnt justified his fee so wouldnt lose any sleep if he goes. With Mateta he has been brilliant this past 2-3 seasons and after 5 years think if he wants to leave with 18months left, and we want a fee then maybe we should let him go. The summer would be better for us though. Not sure Larsen from Wolves will be as good and at £40m big price. Id take Jordan Ayew back to help with this next few months (albeit not as central striker).
