Strangely, Skybet has the current Portugal manager as favourite to succeed Olly.
Various others listed with diminishing interest right up to Mary Poppins at 100 to 1.

Of the, in my humble opinion, interesting ones nearer the top of the market, McKenna, Rodgers and Sir Gareth might fit the bill.

Steve Parish has shown a penchant for Palace nostalgia over the years, so I would expect to see Southgate named in the summer.

Wouldn't be a bad punt for me. (Currently 7 to 1 Skybet and 10-1 Bet Victor).

If Southgate is next in line, then it’s right back to mid table. He’ll be another Roy Hodgson.

Southgate wont get the job in a million years.

Yeah Sir Gareth would be a very Parish appointment, but I do hope not. Years ago I’d’ve welcomed it, but I do feel we’ve gone a level above nowadays and that was even before we won the FA Cup.

He would be very one-dimensional and I don’t think his tactics would work very well in the prem, especially these days.

Martinez as favourite is interesting. I’ve always been a fan of his, he’s got a tune out of various squads of all different levels.

Why so much negativity with Southgate ?
Is it because he bottled it V Italy in Euros ?
Or just general bottling it ?
To defensive ?

First team of next season, whoever is manager,
Henderson
New Richards Lacroix Mitchell
Wharton Doucoure
Esse Johnson Sarr
New

Bench, Nketiah, Riad, Hughes, Canvot, Pino, Sosa, Lerma, ect
No Muñoz, Kamada or Mateta

Southgate!!!!! I fking hope not, if he couldn’t get the most talented squad England has ever seen to play on the front foot- there’s no chance of him doing it with Palace.

Martinez is a bit left field- but certainly a good manager. Lampard might be a decent option in the longer term - his experience thus far might stand him in good stead at the Palace?

He bottled it against Croatia in 2018
He bottled it against Italy in 2021
He bottled it against France in 2022
We all knew he'd be too negative against Spain in 2024
He tries to score a single goal and then sits back and defends it. With some of the most deadly attacking players in the World and an average defence.
His only venture into Premiership football was to take a very strong Middlesborough team down.
He is tactically clueless. Our England team reached two finals despite Southgate not because of him.

I think Lampard might get an interview. He has redeemed himself with Coventry making a mark. He's a young Londoner with great connections.

However, I think we will be looking at analytical managers from the continent. We actually are quite an attractive option for prospects as a club based in the capital.in the top league in Europe and potentially in European competition next year. We need to fix the stadium and bring in some brand cohesion that way. I'd favour a good man manager with a fast transition style and the savvy for a 5 year plan.

Lampard is another Neil Warnock. Quality in the Championship, out of his depth in the Prem. You only have to look at his stints in charge of Chelsea and Everton. His mates in the press and his uncle Harry always make excuses for his failure (its always the club or the players faults) but he just cant do it in the Prem. He'll take Coventry up anfd then be out of a job by Christmas with Coventry in deep trouble.
