Don't know much about this kid. Is he any better than the 19 year olds in our academy, or is it just because he's foreign that everyone thinks he's worth spunking millions on ?

Seems to me to be an Allardyce v Allardicci conundrum.

Yes.

Key difference is that at 19, he's leading the line, for a senior professional team. Seriously outperforming given their financial struggles.

Our 19 year olds are still playing academy football.

his physicality is advanced for his age thats about it

completely different calibre of talent. We wanted to sign him when he was at PSG showcasing that he had some sort of pedigree as they paid 28.5 million for him
 
Also worth keeping in mind that at present, whilst he's only scored 4 this season, its off an xG of 3.

Mateta is on 8 goals from an xG of 11.21

So Cherif hasn't scored many, but hasn't had many chances. Of course that could mean that his team isn't creating many chances, or he doesn't get in good positions.
 
Well Palace love a Friday announcement so perhaps they’re preparing a double unveil of Chérif and El Ouahdi.
 
After a great start into the transfer window, we now seem to be relying on clickbait nonsense for any hope of further players.
I know the club keep their thoughts very close to home, but I do not see any real plan so far.
I suppose all we can do is hope firstly all our players return to full fitness as swiftly as possible and secondly that by some miracle we pick up a real talent or two for a steal.
 
Seems a massive gamble again to me, French football is crap, even Edouards scored a few, if it was option ok, but obligation is crazy, if he does sign Mateta will go, give Uche a go

What are you stressing about.

Dazza has already told us all that Cherif and El Ouahdi are done deals. 😉
 
Have we ever bought anyone from the French League, If you dont include Cabaye who was established international, all have been a disaster.
