Sidiki Chérif

Fingers crossed he can be a success and not another Uche who is full of energy and tries hard but runs round like a headless chicken

A modest goal return from his limited game time. However, I'm trying to keep in mind that when we were being linked with Ekitike a couple of years ago, thinking his goal return looked really poor at the time. And look at him now.

a big fee and risk for a 19 year old with such limited experience. As with Canvot he will need time to adjust and mature.
We need bodies too so the odd experienced squad player would not go amiss - i was amazed we didn't buy Tanganga in the summer as we were so short at CB and he had a c£1.5m premier league release clause.
If Mateta was to leave in the summer i can't see this lad being an obvious replacement so we'll need to go out and buy another striker

Looking a bit like Money Ball to me. Buy youngsters and hopefully sell on at a profit. Maybe our American owners’ influence ? Same MO as Chelsea but lower down the pecking order.

Apparently he is only nineteen at that age Zaha was getting muscled off the ball he turned out well, it is Glasner's chance to show what he can do with a raw talent. *fingers firmly crossed*

I wonder if this move aligns with rumours surfacing of Juve potentially moving for JP and with a supposed deal for Nketiah falling through due his injury. It may be the club want money for JP before his contract runs down and this is the guy we're replacing him with. If that were the case then it seems a big risk.

The fact he can play left wing is a bonus, as if JP does stay, and with Pino's form, it may be his best chance of minutes. He does sound like he would fit our current setup with his key strength (apparently) being his ability to carry the ball forward on the break.
