Is Glasner the problem?

Glasner's a winner, not the problem.

Agreed. There are two problems, but these do not seem to me to be the manager or the formation.

1. It's the team's consistent failure to defend set pieces.
2. Forwards keep fluffing their lines.

The points lost in the league from results dictated by set piece goals, not to mention the FA Cup match, have given rise to current malaise in the fan base. Our converted goals compared to XG is the lowest in the league by some measure.

Stop conceding from set pieces, and start putting a few chances away. We'll see an instant upturn in our performances and results. For me, both these issues come down to the players.

If people are saying the coaching staff are the reason we cannot defend set pieces or stick away chances rather than the players then that is a related but different conversation.

Glasner is relatively young, and this is his first stint in the Premiership, so he's on a bit of a learning curve. Thing is, what has he learnt? If he takes his experience with us elsewhere at the end of the season good luck to him, he brought us silverware where previously there was none, that's good enough I think.
Plus, the game can be harsh and you are only as good as your last result, or last set of results. In this regard he currently has his work cut out.
52 is young ?

One problem, Glasner.

Long article stating the bleeding obvious - 4 competitons and small squad dont mix. Don't need a team of analysts (inside or outside of the club) to get this far.

Some interesting.points though - Didn't realise we have 9 players injured but i guess unfortunately I've stopped counting Riad and Doucoure.

How about a 'fan fatigue' table next measuring people fed up watching their team / disclosing team allegiance (albeit a temporary measure).

What gives yo that idea, he is a skill stifler, Esse will look like Maradona for Coventry. 🤣

I see lots of skill in Esse but like a lot ball dribblers he has his head down and runs into trouble eventually losing the ball.
He hasn't learned not to do that is his time here, a year now.
Very frustrating for the coaching staff.

He has confirmed he will not be signing a new contract. Claims he told SP in October. Not sure he has handled this very well and question is, should he stay for rest of season?

Yes he should. Why?
  1. Like Guehi, I believe Glasner will continue to give his best for Palace whilst he's still here.
  2. The players know his system and I think they trust him.
  3. The last thing we need is a new manager coming in now and trying to change things. That's a recipe for disaster.
  4. There's no need to make a panic move for a new manager as there'll be more choice in the Summer.
  5. in any event, Parish & Co will have plenty of time to move forward with the ones they've already identified before making a final decision/.

Think he should just go now, He thinks the grass is greener, i'm just glad we have enough points to stay up. Rebuild in the summer with new manager.

When he announced this, he also & quite forcefully said that he has not been in contact with any other club, how true that is, time will tell. I agree with Doombear & believe that OG will give his all & be totally professional till the end of the season.

Is it just coincidental that his contract ends when Michael Carriks ends at United , i reckon not . Did he really tell Steve back in October , well lets just say he's been telling porkies a long time now , why stop. No wonder there has been a dip in form . Get rid now and put Paddy Mac in charge . Before he drags us down more .
