Danny Imray - On Loan to Blackpool

Why has Imray been recalled? Why is there suddenly an apparent issue with the signing of the Genk RWB?

Time for some conspiracy theorising:
  1. I|n their long-awaited discussions this week, Glasner has told Parish he's not going to sign a new contract
  2. Parish has said that in that case there's no point me wasting £20m on another RWB
  3. So Parish orders a recall for Imray as a stop-gap till the end of the season
  4. The new manager will play a more orthodox system with a back 4.
  5. Search now changes direction for a new RB for next season
  6. Parish starts letting it be known that Munoz can be bought in the Summer at the right price.
I've heard Genk aren't massively keen on selling someone they only just bought. I also heard the player is quite into coming here. I presume that means Genk want more money. They need to buy a replacement. It's a bit like us and Guehi. Could be deadline day.

I think there's probably some truth in there.

Either that or both clubs marketing departments are so furious that Dazza announced the 'Done Deal' that they've now decided to pull the plug on the transfer.

I see where you are coming from as like me always look for the possible downsides and problems. It's a disease but bourne out of too many years following the CPFC.

I can understand why we’ve recalled him but it is a bit perplexing we didn’t do it before now. We’ve know for weeks Munoz was out for an extended spell and Clyne was our only recognised right back. Would surely have made more sense to recall earlier and especially when Clyne got injured. You’d have thought Macclesfield would have been an ideal fixture for him to play in.

Anyway let’s see what the plan is. I’d be surprised if he goes into the first team but can see him being on the bench. If he does go straight in it would be very against OG’s normal approach of playing senior players he trusts even if out of position.

Maybe contractually we couldn't ?
Aren't loans supposed to be for set periods ?
Although that didn't stop Chelsea recalling a loan player from us when it suited them.

For sure you could start a conspiracy theory around him not coming back 3 or 4 weeks ago when it first transpired Munoz was going to be out for some time - stalled transfer of a replacement / OG not signing etc etc -

All correct i would probably think, but if correct, Glasner out immediately, conflict of interest.

With OG going can’t see us signing anyone else in the window so it’s now down to squad players to fill in and we cash in on the likes of Guehi. Calculation will be we have a squad to get enough points to avoid any relegation worries but there won’t be any ambition beyond that given we will be having a new manager with their own ideas and player needs.

Glasner will still have ambitions to get the best out of the rest of this season as he's just intimated in his presser.

Lerma is back tomorrow and Sarr and Munoz will be back for the Chelsea game. We'll go on another good run over the coming months and finish in the top half and possibly even win the Conference League, although we're in the same half of the draw as Strasbourg, Fiorentina and Lanarca.

Yes. I am sure OG will want to get the best he can from his time here. I was more talking from the Board’s perspective that the ambition will be to hold now knowing they will probably have to reshape the squad in the summer
