Sunderland Predictions.

Would love to see a positive reaction from suffering the most embarrassing defeat in the history of the FA Cup.

No reason why we can't secure 3 points to arrest our current slide.

Palace,hopefully, to win 1-0 in a close,ill tempered game.

Onwards and upwards!!

Going by all recent results, no chance of a result in our favour. Some may point to the Villa draw. My own thoughts are that Villa blew it by playing their normal slow game which allowed us to not get knackered with our starting 11 being able to last the 90 minutes. Even with one late strange change bringing on Sosa for Devenny. 3:0 Sunderland :-(

This was my gut reaction as well, hoping for a less demeaning 2 or 1-0.

Sounds as if you expect us to get knackered in this match, even after a 7 day rest since our last outing, in which we didn't exactly exert ourselves. Perhaps you're right - in which case something is very wrong.😕

I am thinking:

Henderson
Lerma Richards Lacroix Guehi Mitchell
Wharton Hughes
Johnson Mateta Pino

I am not sure if Lerma is right there. However, I would prefer a right footed player in that position rather than Devenny or Sosa. Bench is still going to be pretty weak.

I am expecting a big reaction after Macclesfield and am going to go 2-1 Palace with Mateta and Johnson as scorers.

..........so your prediction is a Palace win then?
I believe such an outcome is highly unlikely.
We have a striker who it is reported has a knee issue and has only scored 1 goal from 'Open Play' in his last 15 games. We have Pino who has flattered to deceive and makes little impacts in games.
We have no adequate cover for Munoz at right-wing back and offer nothing offensively from out on the right. We have Mitchell who whilst defensively capable does not provide a threat when coming forward down the left.
We have been vulnerable at set-pieces game on game.
One cannot construct a case for a positive outcome at Sunderland who are unbeaten at home where they are encouraged vociferously by a 46,000 crowd.

I’m hoping their fans will rip the pi55 out of us all afternoon for our debacle last week, which will fire our lot up and we’ll come away with a sneaky unexpected 0-1 win 🙏🏽😃

That’s what my heart says anyway, my pessimistic head says a comfortable 2-0 win for them

I think it’s the same for all Prem teams now. It’s a much more faster / strenuous game to how it was back in the day. Difference is that other clubs have quality on the bench and make subs at the relevant times replacing tired players. Glasner doesn’t make changes like other teams and at the moment doesn’t have quality on the bench.
