US Politics

Completely untrue. There was, and is, a huge amount of sympathy for anyone who loses their life in such circumstances. Especially someone who was caught up in the moment and wound up by lies and rhetoric, but not overtly political.

The contrast between what the two officers faced is the difference. One faced a mob of people trying to attack him and others. The other faced a single woman trying to flee from him and others. If the officer who shot Ashley Babbit had encountered her, unarmed, on her own, and been brushed by her as she ran away from him, but then shot her 3 times, killing her, he would have been prosecuted and would probably now be in jail.

Two paragraphs.

Two sets of lies.

Bare faced liar.

Call me what you want, but the law including the one Tampon tim signed in 2020 is clear: officers don't have to wait to be run over when a driver accelerates toward them. She weaponised the car, he defended himself. Escape from what? She was there causing an obstruction for some time and refused follow law enforcement order.
Facts over feelings I'm afraid 👍
The bit in bold is true. Nothing else is.

I doubt that in almost any other forum in the UK you would read such a pathetic response to what I wrote!

Only here would such an obviously true summary of two entirely different set of circumstances be described as lies.

This is the world of Trump reborn in the UK. A world where the truth no longer matters and “alternative facts” do.

in a fast moving situation there is no opportunity to assess the effectiveness of each single shot. From I gleaned from youtube etc, the 'double tap' , firing in small groups of 2 or 3 rounds gives the best statistical chance of hitting the target area. You also have to bear in mind that the driver is a moving target.

The USA is also seemingly prepping for some kind of action in Iran. I think 2026 is going to be an extremely profitable year for American arms companies. I wonder who the significant shareholders are ?
That might all be true. However it’s certainly all irrelevant. He had no reason to even draw a gun, let alone fire it.

I have no particular feelings here for anything other than the undeniable facts.

Continuing to deny them just makes you look even more ridiculous. Which is, at least, an achievement I thought was impossible.

Yes it does make you look ridiculous 👍 if you can't see what's right in front of your eyes then I'm afraid there is no helping you.

If that was your mrs pushing your kid in a buggy you wouldn’t think about anything but wanting to harm that driver.
Unless you are the consummate pacifist.
If that was my mrs pushing my kid in a buggy the only thing I would be thinking about is pulling them out of the way. Then I would want to know why she was in the road. Dealing with the driver, if any was required, can wait.

The ex marketing manager, turned landlord and the search for truth.

Pass me the sick bucket.

You're the worst person ever to grace these boards.

Given that he slides back about 3 feet, yeah. Unless he's that good he did a moonwalk just before shooting
We can all see he slipped on the ice. Exactly how far isn’t important. He didn’t fall over. He walked ok afterwards. I don’t see any actual contact between him and the car. I think it more likely he made an involuntary movement which caused him to lose his balance and slip. If there was any contact it was very slight and not intentional. She was clearly trying to get away from him.

All of which is conjecture. What isn’t is that there was no attempt to run him over and no reason to draw a gun and shoot.

Cor, the bully boys really have been backed into a corner together and coming out desperately flailing this morning haven’t they.

For grown men you lot are laughably pathetic.

I think you could be right. It's certainly looking likely that somthing may happen.
With all this oil the cost of fuel may go down further too for Americans. Shame the UK arnt on better terms with the US to share in the spoils.

Given the company I am in that seems extremely unlikely.

Given the opinions that you routinely express and the sympathy you demonstrate for views most reasonable people find abhorrent, it’s impossible.

That you base your opinion on a prejudiced opinion of the merits of landlords and marketeers, both of whom make essential contributions to any modern functioning democracy, tends to confirm that.

Would you prefer the State owned all the housing and controlled all the production and distribution of goods? Never thought of you as a communist!

Was reported there is a technology, not the MUsk one, that can give all phones in Iran international access, this was on Sky news.

Idea being for all to see what is actually going on.

Tragedy that any regime change will likely have huge death toll

There is absolutely no justification for the killing of Renee Good or for the killing of Ashley Babbit. As Orwell said: "Everyone believes in the atrocities of the enemy and disbelieves in those of his own side, without ever bothering to examine the evidence."
