Romaine Esse

Esse to Coventry on loan till end of season. Good move for the lad, but, one less body for 1st team.

Good luck Romaine.

I see letting him going out on loan as a strong sign we are going to bring in further attacking options.

I'd like to think he can kick on at Coventry, but it's a long shot judging by his performances so far.

I doubt he can cut it at the top level and won't be back. Same with Franca.

Watched the full game. Romain was bright to start, one poor decision in the final third first half second half he faded for the first 10 minutes or so then burst into life creating the biggest chance of the game with a bit of magic out on the left hand side. He was clearly their most creative player the second half which is why frank left him on the pitch. Interestingly enough he was also popping up in the central attacking midfielder role when sakamoto came on for coventry. Sentiments on the coventry forums are that he should be starting next game so he played well for me. I have no doubt that he is a very good talent.

Since he’s been here. He’s improved pretty much every player over the 18 months.
Maybe Esse just isn’t his kind of player or considered good enough to waste his time with.

If he had played for us today, Glasner would have told him to play on the right supporting Sosa. He would never have got into Macclesfield’s box to cause them problems sadly. Another manager will bring better out of him in my opinion?

The most annoying thing is we needed a left footed attacking forward who has pace and can beat his man, trouble is he has been sent Coventry, all because Oliver "Hardy" Glasner couldn't see a skilful player if he fell over one.
City sought to get Esse involved as they pushed for the opener, and they came agonisingly close after 63 minutes. Esse showcased his skill by beating two defenders before lifting a beautifully weighted cross into the box for Haji Wright, who headed against the post with the goal seemingly at his mercy.

🙂🙂🙂🙂
