Before we go overboard on individual performances we were playing a div 2 standard side so would have expected more from established and debutants

If they are division 2 standard what does that make this side Glasner put out? And with home advantage?

Could you imagine if we were in the Europa league? Would be even have qualified for the play offs? 😅

Overall I'm not happy with how we treated this competition. I guess the fixture congestion hasn't helped. If we played Leeds on Sunday we would have played a similar team to shelbourne last week and would have done the job.

Benitez is a GOOD back up to Henderson.
King = raw.
Benamar, VERY interesting. Went back to Kenny when he broke into the team. Tough to usurp Tyrick though.
Rodney? Did I miss something. Was he involved?
Sosa, hmmm.
Drake-Thomas. 16? Moves like Jude Bellingham. Very impressed.
Esse, frustratingly very disappointing,
Uche - got no left foot.

The fact that Sosa was substituted tells me he has no future with us. I’ve not been impressed with him in any game he has appeared in and he was very poor tonight. We were a mess defensively for the first 20 of the second half. Not really those players fault as I doubt if they had ever worked as a unit before, but didn’t it show! Lerma can play there but obviously cannot organise and players were each marking the same man leaving another free.

However, what a debut from Drakes-Thomas. We look like we just saw the start of something special. Crosses a wicked ball, has composure and not afraid to shoot. Is he really only 16? I feel sure he will be on the bench a few times from now on.

Because the draw is seeded, the Eagles will be drawn against one of the sides who finished 23rd or 24th.

That means they will face Bosnia and Herzegovina's HSK Zrinjski Mostar or Czech side SK Sigma Olomouc.

Palace will be playing the second leg of their play-off at home.

I hoped I was wrong, but fielding so many young players in a decisive match in a competition where experience is most important was reckless. The Finns weren't better, not even on the same level, but they knew how to handle the game. Just cause a bit of trouble for a few minutes, score two goals and then defend without panicking, even when you're down to ten men – that's experience. I don't know what Ollie was thinking when he picked that starting 11, it's not the first time he's competed in Europe. OK, a great chance to easily qualify for the round of 16 is gone, painful but not the end of the world.
