The bbc, again.

The Daily Mail is losing the plot over the BBC.

For years I have complained about how the Olympic Games and the World Cup is just one big jolly for the staff. Everyone at the corporation seems to be getting on the gravy train. I'm surprised we have had Gardner’s World Live World Cup special.

So finally someone at the BBC has seen sense and is not sending studio pundits at there until the Quarter Finals (personally wouldn't send them at all). So hopefully this is a genuine cost cutting measure. The commemorators and game pundits will still be there but the studio panel will be in Salford.

About bloody time and well done BBC. Quite why the Mail is complaining I don't know.

Not at all. It’s the way the OBR acted when the mistake was admitted. Even though it was an error of judgement it still put its hand up without a long drawn out finger pointing exercise.
It is difficult to see how they could have avoided doing so. It was a very clear error, the source indisputable. The only question was where the blame was taken.

That’s not true of the BBC. Some journalists thought the edit was perfectly ok. Others that it was a technical error. The Board thought otherwise. So there was a disagreement about what should be apologised for, when and how.

It's pythonesque, the BBC seem to have decided to just take the p$ss in their death throes.

Presumably these illegal arrivals are on the electoral roll and have voted as that is a requirement for being in the QT audience per the BBC's own criteria.

"Audience members are selected by the 'audience producer' based on age, gender, occupation, ethnicity, disability status, voting intention, voting history, and party membership"

QT has been rubbish since Fiona Bruce started and needs to be axed and replaced by an impartial debate platform

The nerve of people foreign to this country and continent even. And came here illegally. Their rights blah blah blah. Not helped by liberal idiots whose beliefs include ‘immigrant rights’. See the liberal women thread.

Does a week go by when they don’t have to apologise?

They only have themselves to blame for the current scrutiny. I wonder if the employees responsible for this are aware they're unlikely to get jobs in the real world.

SPOTY…if I read it correctly, 3 women and 3 male sports people up for the award. 3 women presenting. Not sure if the BBC is trying to move too far away from the Lineker years but this doesn’t have the right balance to me.
